Is the Philips hue worth getting or shall I just stick to the cheaper £15 bulbs which I can control remotely?
Any one tried the IKEA tradfri bulbs?

If you want decent colour mix then yes worth it, the cheap ones are crap at certain colours.

IMO Philips Hue is worth it but keep eye out for discounts. i.e. I got two light strip plus on Amazon <£50 each when on offer and a gen 1 hub for £10 on Ebay that works exactly the same as the gen 2 on Android. I have two light strips and two irises and that sorts my room. Anymore and it would be overkill. I want a dimmer switch now so I can turn light on and off outside of times I have set as I don't have to keep picking up the phone (I'm not a fan of talking to turn things on and off....... yet). The app is fantastic and is always evolving. This is a great deal for what you get and would transform a room if you had the bulb connections in the right places within the space.

I am using Philip Hue along side with IKEA TRADFRI GU10 bulbs. They works perfectly. I also use Echo dot to control all downlight at home.

Remember to buy batch number ZY-1731 or above to make the bulb works straight out of the box with Philip Hue.

Also got 2 Yeelights RGB bulbs and Yeelight strip. All control by echo dot.

Cheapest combination i could find.

Cheers northwales, nice part of Wales.
I would vote this hot at £145.

£90 for lights (usual amazon sale price) + £20 for dimmer (never on offer) + £35 for dot (sale price).

oh, nearly forgot...

HOW MuchFor A Bulb?
YeeliGht blah blah...
