Can you use these exactly the same as a dot ie: link them to hue lights

You can yes but in truth this isn’t a great value device unless you specifically want a small screen that isn’t well suited to any display purposes.

The Echo 5 is better value when on offer as is the echo 8 although that might be a bit big.

Also boring, lots of a Echo Spots have issues with failing displays. amazon gave me a refund after 28 months and I got an Echo 5 instead and it’s been much better

You can control a wide range of wifi devices through these. You can also view wifi cameras through the display. Not sure if they can control the device you listed but if you can control it via Alexa on another device then yes you can
They look great but still way over priced considering the "discounts" you get on the echo 5 and 8.

Thank you, I will avoid and stick my my dots.
How can the price of this be £120 on Amazon when the echo show 8 is often on offer for £60. Surely the echo show 8 is much better value at £60 (when on offer) than this, or am I missing something?

I have to agree, the show 5 or even the show 8 is a much better choice. I paid £89 for this November 2018, ok Currys is currently a better price, but the show 5 is £59.99 on Amazon.

My screen began to flicker too and they refunded me the original amount so I bought the echo 8 with credit left to spend.
My daughter uses the echo spot now and the flickering has stopped so I'm not sure what happened there :/

I also have 2 echo Spots with flickering screens :-(
Don't bother the screen dies after so long and starts jumping, Google it! I managed to get a refund after 18 months.
Odd to see it back, on Amazon it hasn’t been available for 8 months.
Lowest price was £90.

Quite expensive. If you wait you can get the echo show 8 for £60
the echo spot performs abysmally as an alarm clock. have never seen such a bad user interface (easy to make it snooze, but impossible to turn the alarm off). i ended up with my spot sitting in a drawer. a nice device otherwise. but, given the echo-5 is superior, and far cheaper, this is a non-deal. at 10 pounds, this would be a steal. but anything above that...no.

amazon are just clearing the warehouses. maybe something new is around the corner. but the spot was a failure (given how quickly the echo 5 appeared on the scene).
I just sold one for £100. Very good price of you can get one
Echo Spot at Amazon apparently is the new updated and improved - still a lot for £120, would go for the Echo 8 especially if you can get it for the £60.
Avoid Currys, unless its the new model, as when mine started acting up they offered me £15 compensation !!, as it only started the flickering when it was just over 12 mths old and out of warranty. I went back to Amazon and they gave me £100 even though I bought it from Currys , and I did not have to return it, it still works and is OK as an alarm clock, I bought the Echo 8 when it was £60

Agreed. Quite possibly ditching their old stock. I’d avoid like the plague

Get in touch with Amazon. They’ll probably sort you out. N
Echo show 8 2019 better or this ?

Echo show 8 2019 better or this ?

I’d say it’s more comparable to the 5. The 8 is too big for a bedside table in my opinion. I’ve got both and tried them both on bedside table but the 8 looked ridiculous.
The sound on these is quite good, better than the original echo dot, makes a great clock, without looking too techy.
How is this a deal? I bought an Echo 8 for £50 a few months back.
Have one of these, the only reason to buy it is to double up as a bed-side alarm clock. For pretty much any other use case, one of the other devices are better.
i have one in the bedroom as a clock, weirdly enough though it doesnt really have a place as a product now the echo 5 and 8 is available. Id rather take a 5 or 8 now.
Had mine for a few years now. No issue with the screen, but definitely a niche product.
Way nicer looking by the bedside than the echo show. Have these been discontinued by Amazon?
41023996-u0uyv.jpgI bought this to go with mine to make it a wireless garden speaker works amazing.. £24
Where from?
I bought one of these when they 1st came out and also ahve a Show 8 - i cannot see why you'd buy this over the 5 or 8 given the relative prices
Now £49.97 and reposted by a PEP
