amazon link for when they price match £49.99 @ time of posting

amazon.co.uk/dp/…M60

Perfect. That's my 5th dot for Xmas presents. Thanks for posting.

I understand the speaker is small and therefore the sound is nothing outstanding, but would this be satisfactory for daughter's bedroom, considering she either uses her laptop speakers or sometimes just her phone loudspeaker?

Yes it'll be perfectly fine. I have a dot as well as the echo and to be honest I'd have gone for 3 dots for the same price giving me more house coverage. You can also connect the dot via Aux or Bluetooth to other speakers. But the simple answer is yes it'll be fine.

Are amazon likely to price match this? Would rather get it delivered for free

Yes definitely suitable for a bedroom. I have one in mine and the quality of sound is great and the volume is more than high enough to fill the room.

I have the larger echo for my living room and I am so glad I didn't spend the extra money for my bedroom echo dot.

Definitely Google home mini for me.
Superb at general searches and nearly twice as loud as the dot.
I'm not in to home automation so can't comment on that side but looks like Google support all the mainstream device like dot.
After all Nest is owned by Google

off subject anyone got snow its coming down quite hard in swindon.

Even better as I have a £20 voucher to use up (that I got free with pet insurance from Argos!).

Ive got 3 of these around the house. Useful when using a feature called DROP IN as a home telecom. No more shouting up the stairs at 3am lol.

Heat added but...

I am still waiting for the Echo Show to go below £199.
Anyone know if it's still blocked from YOUTUBE. ..which is a real downer if so

Dont know much/anything about these devices. Can I tell it to play the radio?

Does anyone think the price of the regular Echo is going to drop between now & Christmas? Was going to buy it when it was reduced price but my brother has been dragging his feet as it's a gift to our Mother & we missed it.

Won't be until tomorrow with Amazon when they start their "Connected Week" with hundreds of discounts across Smart Products.

These were less than £35 very recently but I wouldn't even consider having one in the house.
Maybe the concept of privacy is lost on the young but I'd rather not have a networked device listening to every word I say, monitoring every movie, TV show or broadcast that I consume 24 hours a day and knowing when the house is silent and I'm out at work.

i made the mistake of missing out on these on Black Friday last time and unfortunately, no they didn’t come down in price before Christmas. I wish it had because my daughter added it late to her list

Hiya. I currently have the dot in the living room whilst waiting for the echo at christmas . It’s in a terraced house.

Im surprised at the sound quality downstairs. Tiny at high volumes if you were just having the dot but you wouldn’t need it that high upstairs.

im not buying a speaker for it when it gets moved upstairs
