if you have not done it do the 99p offer with Amazon music, or pay the extra tenner and get a 3rd gen one they are light years ahead of these for that reason alone they were ice cold when Mrswitch posted one for the same price a few weeks ago.

1 of each on the shelf.. but most of these items they only have 1 out and the rest at the 'Technology Counter'.

You can get a 3rd Gen for £16 via Amazon Music, much better than the 2nd Gen, just upgraded mine yesterday.
This is a super price for Echo Dot. I wanted to get one of these to put in the kitchen but didn’t want to pay full price so this deal is perfect! Thanks very much for sharing.
I would definitely recommend the 3rd gen over these if anyone can stretch the extra cost (When they're on sale for £30). The sound quality is miles better, they look better and don't have an ugly Amazon logo on them.

Sign up for Amazon music = £14.99, you'll get a promo code to get a 3rd Gen Echo Dot for 99p, buy it, cancel Amazon Music.

Total £15.98

Ok, wasn't clear. No idea what happened with the link.
I would get it but i want no robots in my room
As someone that owns both a 2nd Gen and a 3rd Gen I agree with the others saying that it's well worth paying the extra for the 3rd Gen. The sound on the 2nd Gen is very poor by comparison unfortunately.
One small difference which might be appealing to some - the 2nd gen is powered by standard microUSB, while the 3rd gen is a proprietary power supply. Bit of a niche requirement, but is one reason you might want a 2nd gen. (for anyone wondering why you might need this, powering it off a powerbank and taking it in the garden it one example).
Also for anyone who's just going to use it as an input to another speaker, the 2nd gen will do that job just as well as the 3rd, so this is good value for that (same price as the cheapest available Echo Input).

And don’t forget this one has less microphones on them. We used to have a Bose in our kitchen hadn’t been on since we got the third generation.
Me: "Alexa! Justify me buying this and leaving it to gather dust, like all the other impulse buys I have made." Alexa:
