I think it should work as far as you paying £34.99 for Amazon device bought.

I doubt it.. Good luck

Just bought it and it worked.

You need to start by ordering via vouchercodes site, register, then use the link to Amazon from there.

Then when you add echo dot to your basket, you'll see the option to add a TP link device.

At the basket, the discount will automatically apply.

Ordered for £41.48.

Then received email from vouchercodes, where upload Amazon receipt to get additional £5 Amazon voucher

I don’t think you can have both student discount and £5 voucher at the same time because applying discount will bring it down below £34.99. Have to choose one between them.

Ordered this too but not sure if I need the TP-Link Plug. Will have to do more research before deciding if I'll keep it

Edit: £9.99 seems like a good price even if I don't need it yet...

Yeah but to get £5 voucher you should have minimum order value of £34.99 excluding TP Link, so you have to get it at full price without applying student discount.Read T&C no2 in vouchercodes.

Worked for me, now to cancel my John Lewis order.

The Sonos code works with this. Took my order down to £14.47 for the two items.

Plus it gives 2 x £1 no rush digital credit whixh is unusual as you normally only get one per order.

I think it ends up only being about £6.98 extra for the plug, thats what it came to on my order anyway! Really handy the plugs, i have one for the phone charger in the bedroom so my phone charges for a bit at bed time, then turns off theough the night and on again to fully charge my phone in time for waking up! So it’s not just charging at 100% the whole night. Also have one for the electric blanket so it’s warm going to bed and then turns itself off if i ever forgot!

What is the Sonos code?

Sonos customers received a £25 off a Echo Dot code. If you have products registered but didnt receive the email simply email Sonos CS and say you havent received the code yet as I did , took about 2 days to get it so this deal may be over by then.

Anyone have a student code for me plz

What is the offer code plz full price when I'm adding both too baske

Does anyone have a spare Sonos code available that I could have? I would be very grateful!

The email I had from SONOS said the deal expired on 31 October, and sure enough my code didn't work.

Its not a code - you need an amazon student account... plenty of posts on HUKD on how to get one...

I get stupid pantry codes - which are useless

Just a charity reminder - if you go through smile.amazon.co.uk to checkout, you can select a charity and 0.5% of the purchase amount will be donated to your chosen charity. Very hot deal OP

good deal..thanks

what sonos code ???

I have several of the TPlink smartplugs with energy monitoring (HS110) but none of the ones without energy monitoring (HS100). Considering I just bought 2 google home minis, do you guys still think it's worth it to have a second digital assistant (echo dot)?

I really don't know if i need/want these! Are they genuinely useful or just fun gadgets?

Cheers OP £39.48 for me

Cheers OP £39.48 for me

why?

'smart plug' discount seems broken at the moment and Amazon CS couldn't fix it for me. When I pressed the 'add both' button, the plug appeared in my basket at full price. I spoke to Amazon on the phone for a long time, and several departments were involved in the call; none could fix it. In the end I gave up and deleted both from my basket. Does anyone know a workaround?

It adds at full price to your basket, but should discount on checkout. If it doesn't, order it and ask them to honour it and refund the difference.

Is there any offer with the £69 Amazon echo at all with the plug? Just want better sound quality.

You can use same offer on Echo as well Echo + TP-link plug £79.98 add both to basket and discount will be applied automatically.

Was eyeing up the £69.99 Echo, and this offer (and £10 Vochercodes offer) sealed it

Ordered the Echo and plug, but paid by gift card credit and only declared purchase price of £69.99 with Vouchercodes. Hope that is ok...

Ordered, thanks OP

I'll be honest, my echo currently just sits on the side idle. When my 5 year old visits she likes shouting at it to tell a joke, roll a dice or through Spotify play Moana songs for 5 seconds before asking for a different song.
My sony TV has just become Alexa compatible, but other than asking it to turn the TV off, it's a bit painful. Try getting it to turn the volume up or down takes about half an hour. Other people's mileage may be different.

However, I'm keen to grab a tplink smartplug deal during black Friday, the number 1 reason for one of them is to plug the Xmas tree lights into it, so the little girl when she comes in December can ask Alexa to turn the Christmas tree lights on. Obviously makes for expensive Xmas tree lights, but once Xmas is over I can plug a lamp into it. I'm also keen to stick one of the plugs into the coffee machine and or kettle for my weekend morning coffee.

This is just very basic stuff, have a look around various forums for home automation with Alexa for some cool ideas of how far you can go with it.

I was thinking to replace those rubbish 24hr timers so that if I am away at the weekend or on holiday I can schedule the lamp to come on at certain intervals.

Excellent heat added

Anyone know if these plugs will go down or is it worth taking mine back to Argos and buying the deal on amazon to get plug for 9.99
