I bought it for that reason and NO it doesn't. What a shame. Amazon need to step it up. Sort it out. It's a big paper weight at the moment.
Rubbish for Audible books. If you break off from reading it loses place or screen freezes.

2 replacements to date.

Pityss thr dcreen is good.

Once linked, its shows a someone is at the front door message. You then tell Alexa ‘show front door’ and it will show the ring
Fantastic sound quality from a small unit.
Thanks Chanci

Well it's not a paperweight at all UNLESS you ONLY bought it to go with Ring. It does a hell of a lot of other stuff
Thanks so much, had ordered the smaller one for a present as 8" wasn't in stock anywhere. Excellent job
Pity no Spotify with this one tho

yes you can, very easy to set up
£59.99 on website. Add to basket and is now £69.99. Am I missing something?
Thanks! I have ordered one and cancelled my Amazon order as the delivery was not for another month!
Its showing 69.99 now?
Yeh been out of stock on amazon since black Fri, and its been £59.99 to preorder the entire time, only just recently they have sneaked £10 on it, who would honestly pay £119 for this now?
Just a note that I don't find the core speech recognition on the Show devices to be nearly as good as it is on other Echos.
With a regular Echo, I just say "Alexa, play..." or whatever...With the Shows, you have to be far louder and more pronounced..."A-LEX-A play..."
It's a shame, because I got used to communicating with Alexa quite naturally.

Even the little Flex does a much better job than the Show.

Helpful... I bought 3 of these in Dec from Amazon for the same price. I want it to go with the Ring Pro so good to know it works.... just need to buy the ring pro now when it's on offer again!

Interesting, I've been feeling the same although had some issues with the original echo in the same location. It definitely seems to be worse on the show. I haven't tried voice training yet and wondered whether that might improve it.

Do you mean no Spotify subscription inc. in deal? If not then Spotify accounts can be linked to this device

Mine has no issues recognising my voice, or anyone else in the family

Yeah, 6 months was included with the smaller one. Getting a bit annoyed with Amazon music, shuffling playlists with 500 songs, usually get very similar songs each time

Have you tried other models in the same place for side to side comparison?

Both my wife and I noticed the difference, as has my 4 year old daughter (as the normal Echos can understand her and the Shows can't) and even guest etc.

I'm surprised if you haven't noticed a difference - I've found it quite pronounced across a couple of devices.

This is our first device, bought for my son for Christmas, so haven't compared it to another device, but fortunately we've had no issues with talking to Alexa
I got a show 8 delivered from amazon on Sunday and must agree it is not as good as the echo dots we have for speech recognition even had the dots start playing in other rooms and the show has not. Early days but I’m impressed other than that
For £59.99 this is great BUT you can grab 8 inch Fire for same sometimes. The Show doesn’t support iPlayer, Netflix etc whereas Fire works with everything AND can be put into Show mode too. I keep my Show in the kitchen for easy watching of Prime content while I’m cooking
Rudki15/01/2020 07:00

Please share how this can be set up.

It’s mentioned above, you just link it to your ring account on the Alexa app and add the skill. Then you just say “Alexa show me the front door”
I bought one of these about 2 weeks ago same price on Amazon. I replaced my old echo 1. However deeply unimpressed. I was hoping to put things on the screen like BBC news feed some RSS feeds weather search Spotify using the screen but for me it is just a glorified clock! Amazon really needs to step up or mine is going to CEX and I will go back to a standard echo.
