Set a music alarm with your ‘getting ready’ song just by asking your smart speaker (Amazon Music, Spotify & TuneIn supported). Ask for a video flash news briefing to stay up to date. Display your favourite picture of your kids as a beautiful bedside photo to wake up to. Whatever you choose to do, the Echo Spot works around you and your routine.

Voice-control your home

Contacting family and mates that own a supported Echo device or the Alexa App is as simple as a standard call. With a crisp and clear camera at the front of the device, your friend will be able to show you exactly how to perfect that dish as if they’re in the kitchen with you.

Automatic updates

Even after weeks of regular use, you still won’t have seen all that your Amazon Echo Spot is capable of. With a consistent connection to a WiFi network, the Echo Spot regularly updates and learns new skills to make the Alexa experience even better. Discover new skills with the Alexa App and see how your smart home experience can be enhanced.

Track your fitness, control your TV with Sony, or just compile a shopping list ready for the supermarket. Amazon Echo Spot is on hand to make every task hassle-free.

Whilst I really liked mine, lots of these devices ended up having screen issues, as did mine.

Luckily, as bought direct from Amazon, they refunded in full allowing me to buy a Show 5 instead.

Again, still a great device but quite overpriced when comparing to a Show 5 when on offer (which seems to be most of the time).
I like ours, had no screen issues, and great on the bedside table. It’s definitely too small for any of the downstairs rooms.

Sadly, given the recent deals for Echo Show 8 and 5, the Lenovo clock for Google users, I think this will go cold. Yes, good for bed side table, but the 5 is good for that too and more up to date. The price is not right, should be half of this price and even at that price do not know if will sell. Didnt vote!

Totally agree these spots should be about £40 with the show 5 at the price it is.
I had to read this deal twice. I thought it was £80 for 2 but it’s only for 1. The Echo show 5 was £50 and Echo show 8 was only £60
There are lots of issues regarding the screen flickering, conveniently it seems to happen when the item is out of warranty. Amazon direct gave us a refund, but, Currys are not budging . I bought mine for Christmas 2018, (purchased Nov) so now its playing up and basically its tough , as its out of warranty, I would say in that case the item is 'Not fit for purpose' so if you do buy it keep an eye and soon as this issue arises, send it back !!

Try speaking to Amazon. They’re usually great on warranty. I got a Show 5 swapped out by them even though I bought it from Argos.

They will be able to see you’ve got one linked to your Amazon account.

Speak to Amazon about the one you bought from Currys. They replaced a 1st Gen Show that is bought from Argos that had screen burn in with out issues

Sales of Goods Act was replaced by Uk Consumer Rights Act 2015.

This means the "Retailer" will be your first point of contact.

As per my other reply, speaking to Amazon may be fruitful. They certainly helped with a 1st Gen show I purchased elsewhere but I don't believed they are at liberty to do so

This is correct. I’ve had to get 3 Echo Shows replaced over the last year with various problems. Make sure you phone them. It’s usually taken me 10 minutes of politely arguing with them until I bring up the 6 years cover and then I get put through to a Customer Service Manager and get sent a replacement.

I’ve done the same at Currys with a 4 year old router that died and an air fryer. Apple has refused to replace things that have died just outside of “their” warranty, and once I bring this up, a free replacement has been sorted.

It can be a nuisance chasing this, but they know the law and will give in if you stand your ground on a faulty product that you haven’t damaged.

Your right the sales of goods act has been replaced but the 6 year right still stands. Also look at the limitations act.

You are also correct with the retailer taking responsibility but I have found in the past amazon are happy to deal with most replacements of their hardware even if bought from a 3rd party

Yes, as I mentioned in another reply.

Quote the EU legislation, minimum 2 years warranty as not fit for purpose. Did that twice, once with my tumble dryer from Currys.
Thank you ALL for your helpful advice, I have firstly been back in touch with Curry's and mentioned the 6 years rights etc, they said they will look back into it and get back to me in 72hrs, as for the EU regs I will have to bring them up if I do not get a positive result from them, and then last resort I will go to Amazon, as you say , they know I have it registered on my Account. Its all the hassle of it wears you down, but I am determined to get it sorted with the result I want - A new replacement.

Well no surprise - got reply -

In this case we would class your product as beyond economical repair and therefore in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we will offer you a partial refund of the price that you paid in order to resolve this matter. The amount we offer you takes into account the length of time you've had the unit and the use derived from it. You paid £29.80 for the product and have had it for 13 months, therefore we are prepared to offer you £15.00 in full and final settlement. The partial refund will be made to you by way of a payment voucher, which you will be able to use in any Currys or PC World store in the UK.

I suppose I have nothing to lose by going to Amazon.

Yes, I think I was very lucky on this occasion, and it has been a big relief, as I did not look forward to having to argue it out with them, also they never made any issue about it being purchased from Currys.
