If I remember well you only need to install 3 or 4 apks to make it Google Play compatible. No rooting required.

Not sure mate. Argos don't state it so i can only assume it has no ads.
Not bad few pounds cheaper than Amazon. It's usb c version so charges in about 3hrs. Old one put me off at 5hrs charge time. Just waiting on this getting rooted for a happier experience
Does anyone knows where to buy the bumper case seperately like the kids own

Amazon but it’s £25 so if you can locate stock for £20 you get 2 years what ever happens warranty and kids subscription for a year (I think)

It might have ads since the same price version through amazon does.

Thanks both! Really? So that must have changed then, I'm pretty sure I looked before on her 7" Fire and it wasn't possible? She wouldn't thank me for loosing her Play Books and Play Store game rubbish with this one

And it's not something Amazon are going to plug up in the future?"
Nice! This will be with ads, but you can get Amazon to remove them for a tenner. Personally I don't find the ads intrusive. As said, can add Google Play easily enough. Heat

It really depends on your needs... if you multitask more (including many tabs in Chrome), then the extra memory of T5 will be valuable, if you play games more then the more powerful processor of the Fire HD is better. If you are a very casual user (email and light browsing), then not much in it.

Are you sure it's the ad version? When it was last posted someone mentioned that these are without ads. Do you know if it would say on the box? I picked up 2 last time but haven't opened them yet.

Can you load 3rd party apps on this, I.e watch IPTV?
Have one and wouldn't buy again. Hate the OS, the screen scratches very easily and it's not that fast... The Galaxy Tab I've got with BT broadband is way better and not that much more. Or the Huawei T5
can i side load kids on this?
Returning my Fire HD 10, the Argos one definitely has "Special Offers" got the Huawei T5 yesterday nicer looking tablet all round and very little in the way of pre-installed apps, the Fire HD 10 is very cluttered.

Murdered the performance of my Fire 7 so never tried it on my Fire 8. Guess with the 10 having more RAM it may cope better?
I recently got this tablet to use as a media/navigation unit in my van (using a wifi dongle), For media purposes it is pretty good but for any type of navigation etc...was awful, GPS non existent.
I also installed playstore and encountered issues with chrome not accepting my account.
I'm an amazon/android fan but I would only get this tablet if you are specifically going to be using for amazon based tasks and casual browsing.
For similar money you can get an equally as good android tablet (which offers much more versatility)

I did it on a 2017 model Fire HD 10 and downloaded a couple of Play Store apps and performance still seemed nice and smooth afterwards. My view is that you just have to be realistic about the capabilities of the device. If you want to watch media, read emails, surf the net etc. it seemed fine to me and so is good value. If you want to play demanding games or do other resource hungry activities (plucks video editing from the air as an example) then this is not going to be the right device.

T5 seems to be stuck on Android 8 while Samsung have moved onto Android 9. Is there any updates available?

I think the performance is fine frngames
I haven't really played much games though but I tried Vice City with max everything and it was smooth

Either way no one buys tablets for gaming, right?
It's a budget tablet, why do people expect the world

For me after installing Playstore, downloading some apks, getting Amazon to remove the ads for free it's definitely worth the £95 ive paid plus isn't the T5 weaker and have a much lower battery life but stock android and 3gb ram?

People don't realise they don't need much power for Facebook, YouTube, HotUKDeals and Netflix

Not really fuzz about that myself, my phone is still on Android 7.
You'd still get updates the for Apps for the next 5-6 years.
If you want more 3GB RAM and better stereo speakers, get the T5.
If you want Android 9, 2GB RAM and side firing speakers, get the Samsung.
