argos sold them for £35 not so long ago but they now back up in price

They were sold for £34.99 in loads of places - Argos, Currys, Amazon, Tesco's. Not anymore though.
What's the difference between this and the one that was being sold for £34.99 by Amazon/Tesco/JL?

Apart from the extra Tesco Clubcard points, nothing it seems. They're the same product.

Paid £25 for mine but was only reduced for a few days

Thanks guys. Surely the price must come down again? I missed out on the £34.99 deal!

the £35(£25 prime now) tablets had ads on the screen saver which took me 5mins to remove when i put the play store on
probably drop to 35 again in January sales.
BE AWARE:

This is a hot deal, but the screen has a huge issue. The pixels aren't square. This leads to the aspect ratio being very off while watching video. So for reading, or internet usage, its a nice little machine, but this will annoy a lot of people looking to use for video. I ended up selling mine because of this.

Tesco were selling for £34 during Black Friday but sold out quickly and they didn't come back in stock before going back up in price. And they didn't have the bonus points back then.

So whilst they are £15 more now, it is still a hot deal especially if you are paying with points.

In the Black Friday double up so you could have got one for 1700 points (and got 34 points back) meaning a net cost of 1666 points.

They are now cost 2450 points in the double up (but you now get 49 points and 147 bonus points) meaning a net cost of 2254 points.

So the difference is actually only 588 points - which isn't too bad in the grand scheme of things especially if you need to get one.

top kek m8

Hope you enjoyed that may-may.
also be aware that amazon updated the firmware very recently and this (at the moment) can no longer be rooted.

I have mine running CayongenMod - for £35 its excellent!
Why is this a deal?

May i have a cookie please
Bought for £25 from Amazon, installed play store and hated it. Too chunky and large frame for a 7" tablet. Returned it back. To be honest, its not worth £49.
darn, wish I had seen this.... heat added though

Well Meme'd sir.

Why is this a deal?

I guess because of the Tesco points, but I'm struggling to see why it's hot, tbh.

I see Amazon don't appear to have stock until 21st December, so I suppose that adds to this deal if someone definitely wants one in time for Christmas.
£15 haha
I got mine from JL for £35; been using it to watch catch up tv on the train. Recommended especially once you install full play store. Get a decent folio case + extra memory and you're good to go.

For anyone in the know:
1. what is the benefit of rooting the device over, just installing the play store?
2. why can I install iplayer on an sd card but 4od remains on the tablet and with only 8GB it's a bit restrictive.
I have two of these was going to return them but if anyone wants them at 40 plus postage can have them... Also have A. lenova you could have that for 65..all boxed and sealed.

Mod Edit: You need to start a thread in FS and not sell in this thread

Android has a very hard time dealing with non-square pixels, so I would avoid.
Do you have to be subscribed to prime to use these though, download the apps etc? Just I had to cancel prime with problems with delivery as we live in a new build property.

Lucky you. I was planning to root mine but this afternoon, while my tablet was charging, it turned it's wi-fi on, downloaded the latest OS update and turned the wi-fi back off, even though I made sure wi-fi was turned OFF before I plugged it in. Now I can't root it! The devious swines!
To anyone who's planning to root their tablet: make sure it can't connect to the internet while it's plugged into a mains charger.
