Now where did i park my DeLorean??
As it happens I bought one then too. I am still struggling to decide if it is worth £35

Poor screen resolution. The adverts are a pain. And being forcedto use Amazon app store.

I have a linx 7 which you can do so much more on. The advantage of this is if you are on prime and want access to lending library.

Is there any way to do it without a amazon device?
I purchased this before Xmas, thought it was awful. I've returned it, since. Don't think it's worth the time or money.

You can ask Amazon to remove the adverts (for £10?) and access Google Play store with a minor tweak to the OS.
Should I buy this or the Lenovo Tab 2 A7 for an extra £5?
hotukdeals.com/dea…745
it's easy to install play store on them though, bought 2 for my daughters for Christmas.
yes the resolution ain't great but as a tablet for kids you can't really go wrong, most time consuming bit was locking the main profile down so they can't actually buy anything but still have access to all the included prime goodies as the kids mode is rubbish
Decent hardware, but truly abysmal OS,why bother with anything other Android or Apple ?

if you need to ask that question you deserve to be stuck with this tablet lol!

personally 7inch tablets don't work for me. 8inch do as do 11 or 12inch.

if you have prime and use the prime services this could make sense otherwise don't bother.

Why even say anything
For under £40 it's a cracking tablet. Install Play store on it and it's transformed. I have Amazon prime so use it for as mainly dedicated for prime music and video but then can have all the other android functions
They're $39.99 on Amazon.com - going to be getting one of these badboys on my next trip to the states baby...
I got one of them and they are brill. Better than some of the top end stuff
You can have the ads removed and install play store easily enough. Takes 5-10 mins to download and run a simple app.

Tablet is a little slow (which would be quite frustrating for me) but keeps my 4 year old entertained in the car as she doesn't switch between apps etc very much. Hudl2 was a nicer device until mine randomly died.

Your referring to around the Black Friday/Cyber Monday long Weekend kind of time (back end of November) right?.

EVERYTHING from Electricals, to non-Electricals was cheaper around that time then? (as 'standard'?).

And the next similar 'event' like this (be it an Easter Holiday Deal, or whatever?), is wayyyyyyy in a future time yet to come anyway?.

Unless you have knocking about some Back To The Future 'Time Circuits' for us to use perhaps ..... :-)
Nice price - heated
How easy is it to stick CM12 on these?

I did it on 2 of them for my kids at Christmas, it was straight forward.

I used this video guide... youtube.com/wat…Tvo, though if your device comes with 5.1.1 then you'll have to use a different method.

There is tones of useful info here forum.xda-developers.com/ama…416.

Sorry about your Hudl Tablet, I was led to believe (the bulk end of last year + some of year before on HUKD at least ... ) that Hudl's were solid bits of kit?.

What simple App did you use to put/force the Google Play Store/functionality upon yours please?. :-)

I disagree, I think it provides useful context when deciding whether it's a hot deal or not.

For example people often point out with the Argos deals - "was previously on sale at....". The reason for this is that it helps provide some context about the item and it's price. No harm in pointing out this has been cheaper previously - in fact I think it's a valid contribution - unlike some others

I've heard CM12 mentioned before? (if memory serves me well, it MAY have been in regard to Nook Tablets perhaps??).

Either way, when you put on CM12 on your Amazon Tablets, does it replace the Amazon Android fully?, or does the/some of the Amazon functionality still remain too?, or .....

Does anyone have any links to CM12 too?, thanx. :-)
Would Amazon do a price match?Does anyone reckon, as I have amazon voucher that need to be spent.
paid 50 for mine when they come out they are a excelent tablet people complaining about adverts either install a custom rom or use your pc to block them xda developers a good place to sort it out

You don't need to use Amazon's store. You can install Google Play and you can also get rid off the adverts. There's guides on how to do this, just google them or check in youtube.

Yep I got mine from Amazon just before Christmas at £29 using the £10 Amazon prime voucher at the time, the screen is very good, crisp, bright and good colours. Its not the sharpest resolution, but then I knew that from the specifications of the screen that its no comparison to something like a "retina" screen on an iPad that's 10x the price (and I am normally someone that goes for Apple products). The only time I see the Amazon adverts are on the lock screen just before putting in my pin to unlock the device, so again for the 2 seconds I see this (the time between pressing the on/standby button and putting in my pin code) I don't find it that annoying.
Yes the Amazon store doesn't have quite as many apps as the Google App store - if it bothers you then you can unlock the device and install the Android OS from scratch.

Lucky people ! That's the deal I missed out on as Manchester wasn't included in the same day 1 or 2 hour delivery at that time (Amazon Prime now) a few weeks later just before Christmas however Manchester did come part of that deal and the Kindle again was on offer, £39 this time instead of £35, so I got it for £29 with the £10 voucher, still not as good as those who got it for £25 using the £10 voucher however I was still very impressed to get this kindle for less than £30 a few hours after ordering at no extra delivery cost (I could have received it within 2 hours but I set delivery for later in the day when I was home from work).
Great tablet imo, bought two for the kids @ £29 so not too bothered if they get broken at that price. Very easy to put play store, YouTube on etc and don't even notice the ads really.

You left it in Tesco's car park when they were £35
With the Tesco clubcard boost getting some heat would this make it £20 worth of clubcard vouchers?
