So you can?

Would be good for the family if I loaded Plex on it so family can browse movies and send to Chromecast on TV. Like a dedicated Plex device

I’m not sure. Depends where you getting the app from. Either from Amazon play store or google play store.

Is this as good as the 10? I've ordered that but apart from the obvious fact its bigger and 1080p is it worth the £60 difference?
Ordered for 49.99

Thanks op.
Went via bupa rewards to save 7% and then went via their cashback site. Had £15 to use.
Wondering if I should hold out and see whether Argos will give £5 back off a £50 spend again.
Same with Echo Show, it shows £199, but drops to £129.99 at checkout
Also echo plus to £109.99, fire tv stick to £34.95, and echo 2nd gen to £69.99

I think the 10 has better audio too and (maybe) faster CPU and more RAM.

I’ve posted all these as a deal but it’s been in moderation for a while now
I’m thinking this for a smart mirror project... aslong as I can get that app (on play store) to work on it.
Like this deal but also don't. There's just something about Amazon tablets. They are simple, good value and get the job done hence average but I would like to have more Nevertheless I think it's great for people new to tablets or for kids

I do not see the Fire Tablet mentioned here theverge.com/201…ces
Do you have a source please?
I don't think you have to root these to get playstore on, just a set of APK installations.
I've had a few older amazon tablets and did it on all pretty easily.

Nexus got a better screen but doesn't have any extra storage (microsd card etc)
Chanchi your a bloody legend. Your always making me spend though!
Will retailers match Very? Under 30quid at Very for 8gb. I am thinking of getting one of this and flashing it to be used in a magic mirror build.
Spend over £50 get £5 voucher worth adding something cheap
Thanks
Does anyone know if there going to discount the 10 inch version again?
Looking at buying a case for this. Is this the 7th generation 2017 release as the case will be different for the 2016 version
