Is alexa needed?

Not at all, but the video of someone putting it on the kitchen side and asking it questions aloud.. thats Alexa. This is perfect if you want to do everything else.
Got this one for £28 And a few pennies earlier. I'd had a small refund for a pricing error on something I bought. It's a nice tablet, certainly nicer to use than the cheapy one. My 5 year old loves his!
Under a tenner more for 32gb (this price is for 16gb)

As far as I can see, it is the latest one - Alexa is added in by a firmware update.
Is it still easy to put the play store on this? I can find instructions, just need to know they still work!

Thanks took a punt, bought the 7 kids edition yesterday. But looking at it, this has improved battery life, screen, ram and speakers.

Not sure about play store but it is much faster than the 7 inches.
The 7 inches is so laggy.
I think it's better than the 7 inch one but I'm literally just someone who got stuck with it when my phone was being repaired and it was painfully slow. Had my 64gb memory card in but that didn't help at all (I'm talking about the 7 inch still) I've bought an extra one as I've used the 8 inch and it's just all round better. But I'm not technically minded or anything so someone else might be able to answer 're the spec etc. I now know i wouldn't buy another 7 inch. But that's personal opinion.

These are definitely noticeably faster than the Amazon Fire 7s. In terms of specs, it uses the same processor, but has 1.5GB or RAM vs 1GB, which doesn't sound a lot, but it's still 50% more than the Amazon Fire 7. It's also got an inch larger screen, 13% brighter and the battery lasts long too, so definitely worth the extra over the 7 I'd say if you plan on using it regularly.

I installed the Play Store a few months ago, so I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to now. Not sure about Alexa though, I have Alexa on my 4th gen model, but you need to hold the Home button to activate Alexa, whereas the latest 7th generation models have a hands free option making them a lot more handy in regards to using Alexa. You can get a brand new 7th generation one on Prime Now for £39.99 using the code 10NOW40 if it's your first order and even add a couple of Pot Pastas with it too for a penny each.

Under a tenner more for 64gb (this price is for 32gb)

Hi gsl / OP, What am I doing wrong? The link seems to take me to 16gb and 32gb prices and not 32gb and 64gb. Prices are shown as 100% and 20% discount is applied at check out.
Coming up as !42 for me.
Can someone tell somebody who knows nothing about these tablets how would you watch things while away from home?
Is it just download I'm thinking about things like live TV.
Does it have Bluetooth and can it pair to my phone?
I'm thinking other than downloading films etc to save it's only good for home use?
Thanks

Great so thanks to everyone who helped me out making a decision. I went for this one as its a bargain and I really dont care for alexa.
Is it a free return item ?
Might be worth ordering a spare just in case the minor cosmetic imperfections are not to your liking.
Got 2 Kindles including this model which is nowhere near as good as the older model.Sound in particular is barely audible, not compatible with card readers. You get what you pay for!

The latest 7th generation models have a "hands free" option making them a lot more handy in regards to using Alexa.
Given that the normal Amazon price is £89.99 for both the Alexa version and non-Alexa version... there must be a software upgrade on these older "non-Alexa" models which give it the Alexa feature....?

Cancelled my order for the Fire 7, and ordered this... but would be keen to know what the return policy on Warehouse deals is if I am not happy with the condition (or the product).
Cancelled this last night due to no Alexa!
Used so battery has degraded smaller battery life not worth it imo especially that it's a non-removable battery

Went for the 32gb option, my old nexus 9 struggled with 16gb with hardly anything installed/running on it.

If you have prime you can download films and tv onto the tablet - then have to connect to internet (/amazon) once every 48hours for DRM (licence) check but only for a few seconds - will have bluetooth to link to phone.
