Woo that's good. Heat!!!
Thanks was waiting for this to go down on amazon as I need the white one which isn’t included on the Tesco deal - heat
Many thanks. I was going to go for the Tesco deal the other night but all the Black dots had gone and I didn't want white....

Ended up ordering from Amazon for black and also got offered £5.99 off if I re-started prime so took it. Just been onto online chat and they have agreed to send me the stick now for only the £20 difference
Was just about to buy this, but reading some of the Q&A on Amazon, you can't actually use the Echo Dot to control the Fire Stick so what's the point of having them as a bundle???

Edit: further down it seems to imply that Amazon have fixed this now so you can use them together.

Is the voice remote redundant if you can use the Dot?

Does it come with the free creepy laugh?
“Alexa launch YouTube on the firetv”... launches YouTube, all good

Stupid pop up comes up about Firefox or silk

‘Alexa press select on the firetv..... Alexa press enter on the firetv..... Alexa press ok on the firetv.... Alexa press return on the firetv’..... nothing.

Turd.

Also, if anyone with one connected to a hdmi-cec tv would like to know ‘does saying ‘Alexa go home on the firetv’ turn the tv on, like it does when I press the home button on the remote?’ then the answer is no, it does not power on your tv like the remote does.

Turd. Needs work.

I was wondering about this too. I've not got the Fire stick yet, but I do have an echo and my tv is plugged into a tp-link smart plug. so at the moment I can say "alexa turn on the tv" - which it does (provided last time I used the TV i turned it off with the tp link rather than putting it into standby). So using a tp link smart plug (or similar) would be the work around.
Once the TV is turned on using Alex/TP-link then I can carry on using Alex to control the fire stick.
Hmmm sort of, I dont think you can say 'Alexa, continuing watching Friends on Netflix/on firetv' or anything like that, so far it seems pretty pointless. I can get apps like AnyMote to turn the tv off, I just can't turn it on with my voice, was really hoping this would work. I imagine it will come in the future. Having said that, this isn't exactly new, it's been available in the states for ages I think
seems like a great deal!

Do you have a link for this TP link plug and can you explain how does it work. I have the amazon echo dot but can’t set it up with my tv, really need something cheap for me to use with my voice activated thanks

I'm not sure which ones shaker has but I got these from amazon and they work perfect with the dot

These are just WiFi plug sockets you can turn on or off via alexa or a Web app.
great find

These are the ones I use. amazon.co.uk/HS1…BFK
You can turn them on or off through the app that you get with it, set routines, timers, holiday timers etc
But if you have an Alexa device even better as you can link it to that. you can buy muliple HS 100s and give each a name, so if you call it "TV" in the app then you just need to say "Alexa, turn on my TV" you can also plug it into a 4 way extension, so when I say "Alexa turn on my TV" it also turns on my blu ray player, smart set top box etc etc.
Tesco is out of stock 😁 Heat

I received these today and now I am an Ex Chromecast / Roku Express user but I do have Prime on my Amazon account. Problem is I'm thinking of getting a dot for my Mother and another one for myself now but so far holding back. As sad as I thought it may be I have had so much fun this morning Got it running through a Logitech Z533 with multiple inputs works great.
