Does the fire stick have an IP & gateway address allocated to it?

Maybe your router has a built in firewall which is blocking your IP address? is the router close to your TV stick? and have you tried to ping your fire stick using a CMD prompt from your laptop?

If it`s saying "not in range" I would imagine your TV stick is quite a distance from the router? maybe another room yes? so if signal is poor that would explain the reasoning behind not getting anything. Could you possibly bring the router closer to the TV or vice versa for testing
Also do you have that short cable connected from your TV`s HDMI to your fire stick. It would have came with the fire stick when your purchased it. Need to go eat so will be back in 15mins. Good luck!

yes i needed to have that in for it to reach my tv anyway lol
try forgetting the network (on stick) and setting wifi up again?
You should not need that Sky booster with the router+stick being close together. Infact it will prob just upset things even more. Could you tell us the numbers you have in the network screen for IP, Gateway, Subnet..etc

Instructions on where to find that are here (guess you already know this)

If it`s a slower ADSL connection she has I can see how her hubby watching stuff on his phone could have an impact on the buffering of media on her stick but not to the point of stopping it working completely. Glad its fixed anyway...

No problem. Glad you sorted it. No more Golf!!
Anybody experiencing this issue?
Quite often when I use the Netflix app I have to log in again. I don't have to log in each time on any other device I use Netflix with, just the Fire Stick. It doesn't happen every time just maybe every other time.
what version of kodi are you running those of you who have it.... I'm using helix 14.2 (tvmc) but there's a new version update 15?.. if I update to 15 for android off the kodi page will this work and keep my favourites and settings.. also on the version I'm using there is no option for brightness and contrast.. or volume control I assume this is because there's no on board sound card but what about the Contrast brightness option is this due to similar circumstances..

Stick with 14.2 as some things break with 15.
If you do update make sure you look up the correct way to do it as you have to pass a switch I can't remember (starts with /) to adb when you install the update for it to retain all your add-ons etc.
I updated from 14 to 14.2 with that method and didn't lose anything.
I have installed TVMC, watching live TV keeps buffering every 2 minutes. Is there any tweaks I can do to stop this?

I've had the issue a couple of times. If you have the Fire TV then try connecting via a cable rather than wifi just to rule this out. I think live tv is being uploaded by someone else so could be their upload that is the issue rather than anything you can do. That's the downside of these dodgy streams is they can be unreliable.

I know its not the stream as if I use my android tablet it is near perfect.

I am using the AFTV stick, so no network ports, using it to stream Prime movies or TV shows is fine. I am only getting issues on TVMC.
mine has done it a couple of times. i just find a different stream
installed kodi using a youtube guide, but what can i do now?
