whats that mean?

oh missed that seems you can only get it if you are on a free trial

The new version is out later this month, so they are obviously trying to clear old stock.

They're trying to get rid of all the current stock as they finally admitted they overheat due to design fault. I'm awaiting my replacements when the new design is released so I personally wouldn't buy this version whatever the price

Didn't know a new one was on the cards, I can see it on Amazon.com but not Amazon.co.uk, hope some offers come up before The Grand Tour starts.

clearing stock in prep for FireStick 2

I would be very careful looks like a scam I tried it, entered username and password, but wouldn't let me hide my password which is strange, therefore just changed my amazon password now, might just be me being too suspicious!!!

I seriously doubt amazon are trying to scam you.
are you sure you were logging into amazon.co.uk??

expired

Should be "for Prime Trial users only".

That did cross my mind, as the two times I clicked the link wouldn't take my password first time even though correct, had to type a 2nd time

Will this work on Amazon prime?

Indeed looks like I spoke to soon

Tried speaking with Amazon web-chat to see if they would manually adjust the price, however they stated it's for free trial members only. I asked if it's possible to cancel my membership and go on a free trial too (a little tongue-in-cheek at this point) but they replied that you need to receive an email entitling you to the offer. Bad luck guys!

Still valid for me ( one year prime contract)

Working for me. I have a fire stick and its okay with kodi.

won't work for me, recently paid up prime student membership

Not eligible. Probably because I already use it lots and already have a Fire TV, I imagine they are trying to hook in users who don't already use the service..
