A bit of a niche one, however hopefully helps those who have one of the devices (dig out those old Xbox 360s!). Below is taken directly from the link (which only appears to work if you are logged into Amazon and one an un-supported device). This only works on the normal stick and not the 4K.

To use the Fire TV code from your unsupported TV or streaming device (list below), go to amazon.co.uk/firetvstick and enter the code FTVSPORT20 at checkout.

You must be logged in with the same Amazon account as on your device.

LG Hawaii TV: certain 2015 and earlier LG TVs
Sony Bravia TV: certain 2015 and earlier Bravia TVs
Sony Bravia Blu-Ray Disc Player
Roku: 2014 and earlier Roku devices (excluding Roku 3, which is supported)
Xbox 360 Game Console
Nintendo Wii U Game Console

Terms & Conditions:

  • Offer valid against purchases of the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote for £19.99 at this link amazon.co.uk/dp/B0791RGQW3
  • To redeem the offer, apply the code FTVSPORT20 at checkout of the purchase
  • This offer is valid from 09:00 BST on October 7th 2019 and ends at 23:59 GMT on October 31st, 2019
  • Separate subscriptions may be required to watch content
  • The offer only applies to Amazon.co.uk customers who order a Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote here sold by Amazon EU Sarl on the website www.amazon.co.uk. The offer does not apply to purchases made from Amazon's Warehouse Deals or from third-party sellers on Amazon Marketplace, even if "fulfilled by Amazon" or "Prime Eligible".
  • Postage and packing will be applied to each item in accordance with Amazon's standard delivery rates and policies
  • Offer limited to eligible customers only and only applicable on the customer account where offer was shown
  • Offer limited to one per customer and per account.

Think people see heat on a deal and automatically press the plus

Same when people see a cold deal they automatically press the minus without reading whats it about
Did any of the posters saying it doesn't work use one of the supported browsers - like a Wii or XBox360?

I think thats the issue most people like me just read the top of the post not all the additional information so they dont see the instructions, maybe make them bold or something to draw peoples attention. Best thing to do is just wait for black friday they will be very cheap as usuall and you will be able to get the 4K one.

Are you logged in on an eligible device? You need to be logged in on one of the devices with the same Amazon account as you are logged in to try and purchase.

Thats better
Great post for those that dont have recent smart TV's with the streaming apps, i have a shield in my lounge which was nearly £200 back in 2015 and are still that kind of price and i can honestly say that my 4K Firestick is as good if not better. As a streaming device the FS supports Dolby Vision which the shield doesn't and its 1/4 off the price and even less if you get one in the sale. I know this is only the 1080p one but still great if you have a older 1080p set.

I got this offer on my 2012 Sony blu ray player, I had been using Prime video and a message said they'd stop supporting the player after September and gave a unique code to get a firestick for £20 which I did.

I imagine you only get this if you're a Prime video subscriber though?

Oh yeah my bad I meant prime day they were 25 on prime day it think
So has anyone but the OP been able to buy? The browser on my Sony TV is SO slow, I'm not sure it's worth it?

Life's too short for deals like this.
Wouldn’t touch the non 4K sticks with a barge pole, they are slower and seem to have over heating problems. Wait for prime day and nab a 4K stick for £25.

Had one for over 6 months, gets warm but that's it. Only problem you will have is if you use a crappy USB cable or underpowered USB port.
ordered one for £19.99 it's a good price

Yep. That's what's wrong with the world. Don't read simple instructions.
Great find. A little niche. But this is exactly why. Hot UK, exists. For deals like this.

yes but you need a bluetooth mouse to get it set up
Is Apple TV on these yet?
Dont no why these are still so popular these days kodi not like it used to be. It has no now tv no bt sport and the menus layout sucks
can you also get all the free HD channels on a normal firestick or do i have to get the 4k one?
Also if its just for the purpose of watching HD channles (bbc1/itv/ch4) is there advantages in getting the 4k one? other than perhaps one day BBC will stream for free 4k.?
Wait for the 4k if you can. I dont even have a 4k tv its just a lot more snappy.
I'm on my Wii U, have logged into my Amazon account via the Internet browser, navigated to HUKD and clicked the Fire Stick link, added basket, gone to checkout, added Promo code FTVSPORT20 and it says "the promotional code you entered cannot be applied to this purchase".

What am I doing wrong?

Because people don't just use them for Kodi?

All UK catch up tv apps.
Actually get updated unlike smart tv's.

Also do the job for running other IPTV apps and VOD stuff from sources not on the amazon store

We have one and it's okay not a patch on the 4K stick but does the job on an older tv we have.
