It’s annoying me that Amazon nowadays are clearly trying to push people into buying Amazon Prime to get the best prices which I refuse to do. Had it for a year the speedy service was great even though the next day service you paid for didn’t always work. In my view the £79 they charge is too excessive!

Buy it for £59 near Prime day or £39 for 18 months with a nus extra. No one is pushing anyone to do anything, that's all in your mind.

If you mean Prime is expensive with all the below benefits thrown in, i am not sure what is reasonable anymore in this world.

- Next Day Delivery for 12 Months
- Prime Video Streaming for 12 Months
- Twitch Free Games for 12 Months
- Amazon Prime Music
- Prime Reading
- Unlimited photo storage
- Amazon Pantry

Good Luck finding anything that provides similar service as this

I am not being tight but was asked by amazon to tell them if next day delivery did not arrive next day. Every time I do they give me a £5 voucher and if I kick up a fuss (as I needed it next day) they often give me a months free prime. Hoping they continue with this courier as I may never have to pay for Prime again!

There is an unofficial YouTube app on it that works just fine.

Where do you get the unofficial one from please?
Was about to order one for travel until I discovered that Amazon Video has stopped working with all my VPNs (tried windscribe, tigervpn and vpnunlimited to no avail). I already have 2 Fire TV and one Fore Stick at home. Very disappointed....
Part of the Youtube app being removed meant that they added a web browser on there as a workaround.
I have this one and the original. I find the newer version to be a decent upgrade in terms of speed and performance. Well worth it for £30 IMO.

Get the NUS extra card using the trick they keep posting on here, you get prime for free for 6 months, and then it's half price after that. The only difference to regular prime is you can't share the benefits with other folk.

Plenty of little things that can be added to the Fire Stick.

I get a better picture using the unsupported BT Sport app than I do with the BT sport SD Channel I get on the Sky box.

Do the student trick for £39, but its not just a delivery service is it. With everything that is thrown it seems to be incredibly well priced to me (Especially at £39), i think HUKD has turned you into a super skinflint, me too but i still see prime as value for money.

Hmm I couldn’t get the BTSPORT app to install on mine! (Latest version fails, while earlier versions install but BT says not the latest version ). I do have google play, google play movies on the firestick

I paid £59 for the year I had it £39 is definitely probably worth it. I just object to having to pay for Prime to get better prices on Amazon regardless of the cost!

No I wasn’t infering it was expensive for what you get I was moaning that more and more items that are listed at a lower price are only available for Prime members. Though in many ways having a lot of items only available for Prime members has stopped me buying as much stuff! Though this site has cost me hundreds if not thousands since I joined!

You seem to be wavering on your objection at the right price (your comment above). Why do you have an objection to a company rewarding in essence subscribers?
A little tad off topic but what happend to their live chat service? I went to use it earlier and I can no longer find it...

I just didn’t personally for me £79 was worth paying for the services I used. But you can’t argue that more and more of the lower prices are only available if you have Prime. That’s my main objection really!

IPTV from which provider? How much?

If you mean the silk or Firefox browser, that starts buffering after a while, for me anyway. My firestick must be clogged up. I use the YouTube app on PlayStation.
Cold from me. It's total junk. Just get an android box for about £30!

Not sure if you’re serious or not but as someone who’s got one of these in the bedroom and a shield in the lounge I can tell you that this certainly isn’t junk. It’s quite fast works well with the supplied remote and voice searching is good too. The fact that you can use Alexa on it also is a bonus. Much better than a cheap android box (of which I’ve had several).

Search YouTube on your firestick, it's just an app link to the YouTube Web site.
I got 5 when they were 25 quid last year. Seems a bit expensive now.
Outdated now had 3 sold them you're better off with an Android box
I disabled automatic updates for the official Youtube app and was still using it right up until Friday, worked perfectly (even though it had a message pop up when started saying it would stop working after a certain date).

The only reason it stopped working was due to my Firestick developing a fault after a year of use, but just got a new one free of charge from Amazon today (amazing customer service).
Side loaded the Youtube app from the Aptoide app store, and works perfectly.
Reluctant to buy another firestick. Mine was working fine until a software update made it very sluggish, will probably seize up totally with the next update. Poor from Amazon, the firestick was working totally fine before the forced "upgrade".

How's the difference between 1 of these & a shield? Not interest in games...

- Next Day Delivery for 12 Months - Doesn't apply in my area, takes the normal time
- Prime Video Streaming for 12 Months - Nothing of vital interest to me, maybe worth geting Prime for 1 month to catchup once per year.
- Twitch Free Games for 12 Months - games are terrible, not a single one of interest
- Amazon Prime Music - I don't stream music, and youtube is free for the odd tune
- Prime Reading - don't use an eReader or read from a monitor/tablet
- Unlimited photo storage - again pointless for me, I have a 4TB drive and print photos when needed to share
- Amazon Pantry - I have access to supermarkets and shops and they are cheaper

So as you can see there is nothing here to make up for the £80 price. The ONLY thing of interest is the free delivery without needing to spend £20, and that's not worth £80 a year to me.
