Thanks OP! Got 4K Fire Stick for £29.99 after using a £5 off £25 spend on items dispatched by amazon after receiving an email from them last week.

Unsure if account specific.

Most TVs have all these apps already. Is the fire stick for old TVs?

Not just old TVs. I find the apps on Firestick have a lot more support and generally run better than the ones on my Samsung and Hisense.
Perfect to run IPTV from

Is it worthwhile getting the 4k i have the older one
I've got one from last deal. Great device but I miss ease of casting any video from the web to TV from my Chromecast.

It used to have the casting option I guess. Google it

Yes, there are some apps but it's just not as easy and trouble free

It had a mirroring option in the settings.
It's 30 pounds the Fhd ones

Why is this on a promotion. Is there a newer version soon to be out?

I bought one for an old TV, but it is so much faster than the built in apps on my main TV I've moved it to there. I may buy a second one.

The voice functions are great too.

I'm not talking about mirroring (also annoying with different aspect ratio on the phone...). With Chromecast you can play any web video on your phone and you get 'cast' icon in the corner. And it seamlessly starts playing on TV.
Does anyone know if there are any noticeable benefits or the 4K version over the standard, when used on a non 4K tv? I realise you won’t get the benefit of a 4K picture, but would the faster processor etc realistically make any difference?
Can I cast a movie on my phone directly from my phone to the firestick?

I don't mean mirroring but casting.

this like the 3rd time in 2months they've put it 34.99. why not just keep it that price.

Is that both on phone and firestick I need that app?
There are videos on YouTube showing how to disconnect the spy microphone.

For that go for Nvidia shield tv. All in one

Pretty sure you don't have to remove your chrome cast to use this!

I was very happy with Chromecast but for some reason it often would not pull 1080p 60FPS just 480p... And I watch a lot of gameplay on YouTube. So I bought Firestick 4K to future proof when I get 4K TV.

I bought a 4k one even though I have not yet bought a 4k tv and it is significantly faster and slicker than the firestick it replaced.

I'd hoped that I could benefit from the atmos on some of the 4k amazon content since the AV amp can handle a 4k signal in and o/p 1080p to the tv, but annoyingly the firestick establishes that the tv is not 4k and refuses to output dolby atmos (only dolby digital+) even though it is happy to feed 4k picture into the amp.
Damnit was about to sell mine, better get on it quick.

Been using this for over 3 years on my FireTV & works fine...

IMHO Makes a HUGE difference...don't buy the old stick....is quite laggy on the menus. I swapped both my parents and mine out after playign with eh 4k
What are people's thoughts on this versus the Fire TV 3? I initially swapped to the Fire TV from a stick due to it struggling with plex streaming. Is the CPU comparable to the old TV 3? I'd obviously lose the built in ethernet port (I'm aware an adapter is available) but gain the benefits of being on the latest firmware and should be able to control my soundbar volume with the updated remote.
Ordered from Amazon with discount code, 29.99

Triple yes! Massive difference especially with using Kodi
I bought 3 last time round - much quicker working through menus and improved WiFi range
I guess if you already have a Nvidea shield TV and chromecast that you don't need this?

Will just perform worse than the shield tv, which I assume also supports Amazon prime video?

Or can you only get amazon prime video on an amazon fire device?

(I don't have a TV at the moment so haven't actually used by Shield TV yet).

Same worked.
Now need to to sort iptv
Get on r/plexshares as well and you can be streaming the latest 4K films at a reasonable cost.

Anyone else have lip sink issues when using 3rd party apps on these? Is there a setting I can change as the app I'm using doesn't seem to have one

Restarting the firestick from settings usually helps. Would also like to know if anything else would do the trick.
