Only ever been £25 once and that was prime day, usual offer price varies £35-40. But who knows?
I just have a normal 1080p smart TV about 6 years old. I was thinking of buying the normal fire stick posted on here yesterday .... now I am thinking I might as well go for this one.
I believe it should still work fine with my TV and when I change the TV in a year or two (screen is showing some dead line around the top) I wont have to upgrade the stick.

      Any thoughts?

I would say for the extra £10 its worth buying the 4K version, as like you say it future proof for longer than the 1080p version and no need to pay again for the upgrade when you do upgrade your TV.
IMO it’s a lot faster too. Things just loads so quickly and navigating is a breeze.
thank you folks, I think I will take the plunge and order one.

Get the 4k version. It'll work fine with your old TV and its quite a bit quicker than the normal version. Both are fast but the 4k version feels especially responsive.
Ok so there's a 4k version and a 4k ultra HD version then?

I can't believe your still using the original lol. They were what made my YouTube channel take off when I was showing people how to install Kodi... long gone are the days of that for me, now I just use 3rd party apps like TvZion, CyberFlix etc, along with a Real-Debrid account you get the best quality links and 5.1 surround, even 4k stuff.
The new 4k stick is next level to the one you're currently using, you'll be shocked how much quicker it is.
Does anyone know if this works with airplay for Apple (iPhone or iPad) I heard you can download apps to force it- but as Apple are releasing AirPlay “officially” I wondered if anyone could confirm? Thanks

I found the apps for airplay do not support video (unless someone can guide me to a particular app?) i can screen mirror and audio with apple music but sadly not video. Apple tv+ is coming to fire tv soon anyway

      I think he’s confused your 1080p tv with a 1080p fire stick

You've never used Kodi or a 3rd party app for your stick to watch films and movies? I thought that was why everybody bought them
You really need to Google or check YouTube on how to install apps to your new stick

      works fine on 1080p tv.
much faster than the standard fire stick through the menus and handles any additional apps much better.

personally swapped all 3 of my old sticks out after getting the 4k stick.

not a bad price. Amazon will likely not reduce below this price until black Friday and cyber Monday.

I have never actually owned a streaming stick before, never needed one ... so clearly I've "never used .... etc etc". I don't intend to install Kodi or anything like that but thanks for the info. Are these streaming sites you are talking about legal or is it the same story as Kodi fusion/exodus etc?

Basically, I am buying one to use prime video on my tv and may be DisneyLife, as a replacement of Live TV.

I totally read your first message wrong. I thought you said you had the original 1080p stick from 6 years ago, my bad!

Yeah the 3rd party apps aren't official ones like Netflix, Hulu, Prime, Shutter etc but you can pay £2.50 a month for the best quality ones.

The 4k stick will be much faster than your TV if you just want it for Prime.

oh wow, which one can I get for £2.50?
I have the stick reserved in currys, planning to pick it up on the way home.

If you sign up to that, then on the top it says premium offers, I always go for the 6 months one. Link your RD account to CyberFlix or TvZion once you install them and you'll have every single show or film you'll ever want.
Think I've gotten about 50 people on it now and they all said they wished they got it sooner.

      He’s provided you with a link to RD. On there it explains;
