You could put the dot in another room doesnt have to be in the same because you have bought them together

Was going to buy a dot on it's own for £50 today so this is a bonus. Cheers.

Have a £15 amazon voucher and still waiting on the 4k stick to go on sale. Hot nonetheless

Just got an echo dot 3rd gen delivered on Saturday. Tried to get Amazon to send me a firestick but they said I have to return my echo dot and reorder.

I have a spot and a firestick in the same room, they seem to get on very well together.

Anyone in the room who hasn't got their hands on the remote can say Alexa pause, play, launch Netflix, play Lady Gaga on YouTube, volume up, volume down etc and the dot will get the firestick to do as you ask.

I don't always want to press a button on a remote, or the remote isn't to hand so the dot is quite handy.

You may not see the point but there are others out there who might find it useful such as people with physical disabilities or just people who use technology on different ways.

The speaker on the 3rd gen dot is excellent so allows music playback or question responses without affecting what is on the TV. Allows voice commands without the need for the remote, good for when you can't find the slimey little bugger!

The 4k stick is much better, faster processor and future proof.

Wow. What a response. I'm making the observation that the stick can do the same as a dot, just by pressing a button (presuming you're using speakers), and it warrants your histrionics? There are more important things to get hysterical about, but thanks.

Yes, speaker - fair point and I stand corrected! My Stick replaced an echo input so I didn't think about that. The stick does seem to take the same voice commands though.
Would have gone for this but want the white echo

my wife was watching ITV HUB and she needed too pause it the button didn't work and voice pauded it but when unpaused it didn't start from the paused part it went to live, any idea's.
May have misunderstood the command
Great bundle price! I want the Dot 3rd gen just because it’s new but it’s mildly annoying it’s not micro USB powered - USB-C would be better even, just for convenience. I dislike proprietary plugs as it’s just another thing to find if you happen to separate the parts.
Does the fire stick comes loaded with apps like bbc iplayer, youtube or you have
to install them?
Thanks.

I don't see anything about their response that's hysterical. We have a dot and firestick in the same room too. Our heating, lights and several power outlets are all controlled by the speaker. We don't however leave the TV on much, so the dot is ideal for sticking out of the way but still having voice control handy. I suppose you'll have a hostile response to me too for an answer to a question you asked.

No, I don't have a hostile response, and you're obviously reading the response differently from how I viewed it. And your coherent explanation fully answers the rhetorical question I wish I hadn't asked. Thank you.

What do you mean per month ?
The only subscription from Amazon is Prime if you want to sign up, it's £7.99 per month.
Bought it....didn’t need either, but....
9% quidco as well brings it down to 45 even batter.

9% only in the luggage category, nothing that mentions cashback at all for Amazon devices ?
Enter “BIGTHANKS” at checkout for an extra £5 off on 19th March. Glad I waited till after midnight to order!
Bought the 4K version with an Echo Dot for £75 using the code. Don't need either, thanks :P

I bought the 4k months ago at £39.99 which I thought was a pretty common price.
