Hi, thanks for replying. Do you think a fire stick is better than the media boxes as I'm not really sure what the difference between them?

I have a M8 Android Box and bought the Fire Stick as pre-order offer for £18 with the intention of using as a spare for Kodi. Now I'm using it as my main, found that the Fire Stick has had no issues with any 1080p streams on Kodi as with the box it stuttered quite often. My box was using a wired internet connection, on the Fire Stick wireless connection. The size also is great for taking away with yourself. Found no reason to pay the extra money either for the voice remote as they have an android remote app anyhow which has voice. The android remote app is very easy to setup for anyone whereas the "normal" kodi remote apps for devices require some setup on Kodi.

Does the roku support kodi? As mentioned, the firestick comes with remote, the voice function is only for amazon prime video.

a mouse alt that can be used with android phone and ios phone can be found at amazon store

Hi, thanks for replying. I don't know what android remote apps and normal kodi remote apps are really. Im just looking for something that will play kodi, showbox etc and possibly Netflix. I don't have an Amazon prime account so I won't be using anything from Amazon. Do you think the fire stick is the best option for me? There seems to be a lot of different things to use such as roku, Chromecast and other media boxes and I haven't really got a clue which is best. I need something very easy to set up as my skills are pretty basic sadly :).

Is this the same as the Firebox?.

Ok sorry just seen the reply Thx. Wanted one as a spare as well!

Anyone looking to buy this in store, may'be try the big tesco extra stores, as i bought this tv stick yesterday, and only the very biggest tesco store sold them. The other 2 huge tesco stores i went to had none on the shelves.
I also ended up with over 500 points just buying this item along with a £1- item, got 536 points ,i'd only spent £36-.I did notice on tesco website yesterday,500 points plus another 35 points were given when buying it online.I obviously hadn't bought it online, but i've been given points as if i have.page below shows that two lots of points are awarded when buying online.

I grabbed one of these just because of the sheer convienience of taking Kodi to different places haha
Kodi works very well on it ! The only two things I struggle with is setting up p2p streams but I don't think it's possible unless you connect a storage device /network .
The other is if you add films /TV series to your library they will take up the space on the fire stick sharpish . I would suggest the addon called raw maintenance which allows you to easily delete thumbnails amongst others . This allows you to have your library without using the space up so fast

I pre ordered one of these when they were £19, they are great if you are a prime member.

Its fine for Netflix also. Personally I'd go for the Fire stick over the Roku as you can put Kodi on the Fire stick.

I Got this along with my £5 off £40 spend (I needed a few essential bits anyway so got it for £30 500 points (£25 in theory) I already have the box version and cant recommend it highly enough, fast and sleek and very customizable (is that a word?) if you know how to google

I can't comment on the m8 for stuttering, but my fire tv sometimes pauses at nighttime on kodi, so next step is connecting via Ethernet

Try IPTV I've got that working fine on the firestick. Manual setup instructions on website. Never thought about the lack of storage side of things as personally I've everything on a NAS anyhow. Think if you have Amazon Prime it links to the Amazon Cloud storage also.

Head to Kodi's website and see if you think you will be able to follow the setup instructions from the video ok. Otherwise it I would go for an Android Box with Kodi preinstall or wizard setup. TVaddons also has a kodi wizard which is easy to install on any android box.

More or less just differ specs but does the same job except WIFI only whereas Box can be Ethernet connection also. On Amazon website it shows the hardware differences.

Question for those that already have one.

Anyone had any issues as of yet using USB power from telly rather than mains? So far I've had no issues but see on forums some have.

Does fire tv stick mirror the android phone screen?

Thanks OP

Hadn't thought of getting 1 until now

That's when America wakes up

Dual core and 1 gb ram vs quad core and 2 gb ram on Fire TV but I find it's as fast or faster than any media box I've had and believe me I've had Atv, Ras Pi and 4or 5 others, it won't mirror video from Apple devices such as movie box as Apple locked it down. Audio is ok.

does it have cec support?? (controlling kodi etc with tv's control)

None at my local was thinking of getting one using the zeek vouchers

No wonder Apple Tv v2's have dropped down in price all of a sudden, Kodi @ 1080p for £35 - bargain!
