I think it's fairly similar in design and insides, just more of it's construction is better quality, more metal contruction on the internals. Check coffeeforums I think they'd be better help.

Cheers mate. Looks like they are coffee freaks who are talking about grinding your own and weighing them on scales though!!!

Gaggia are really not to be sniffed at, if I didn't have mine I would be buying this, hot!

is this a bean to cup machine ??

No mate, you'd have to use coffee ground finely enough for an espresso machine or else pre-prepared ESE pods.

I won't buy Gaggia again, after sales is none existent if something goes wrong. I have the classic and loved it until it broke.

After sales was excellent until they went under and were bought by Phillips.

Thanks OP, I ordered one and have been enjoying great coffee for a week now!

You're welcome, I got one too, unfortunately wand is dripping small drips of water when the unit is preheating, is it normal? not sure if I should service it under a warranty or replace for another unit in Amazon

Often thought of buying a Gaggia --- but I'll give it a miss not I've discovered they're owned by Philips. Every Philips appliance I've ever owned, bar their rotary head shavers, was rubbish and broke down prematurely.

I have to admit it took me a while to decipher the rubbish manual! I was getting a lot of drips and splashes in the beginning, once I figured out that you press the left button to get the coffee, right button with steam knob to froth/steam milk and right/left buttons plus the steam knob to get hot water for an "Americano", since I figured that out I've had no drips or splashes.

thanks but I rather mean, when you turn it on, can you see a drops of water coming out a steam knob while the unit is heating up?

Oh sorry, no I haven't had that happen

great machine for the money, but get a good grinder as well! without grinder the machine want give you a good espresso.

have it for a year, very happy with it! can't leave the house in the morning without having a cup of nice cappuccino!
