Amazon Introduces Prime Stations (Free Internet Ad-Free Radio For Prime Users)

Found 27th Jan 2016
No idea if it's of any great benefit but it is free to Prime Users.

As a Prime Member, you now get unlimited access to Prime Stations--an ad-free, internet radio service you can enjoy at no additional cost to your Prime membership.

With Prime Stations, you can find a genre or artist you like and hit play to hear a continuous stream of music that you can pause, replay, or skip as many times as you'd like. As you listen and give songs a thumbs-up or thumbs-down, each station will adapt to your music tastes.

Prime Members can stream Prime Stations and over a million songs for free with the Amazon Music App on iOS, Android, Kindle Fire HD/HDX, Mac, PC, and the web.

yes I use these, pretty decent imo
Shouldn't this be under freebies?
Awesome, thanks for the heads up, listen to Prime music quite often but wouldn't have noticed it :-)

Maybe but there is a cost to get it (you have to buy Prime Membership at 79 quid/yr) so thought it belonged here? Mods?
Ah, indeed. It's not free at all!
Nice one. Would imagine the like/dislike on the station page will, over time, stream the stuff you prefer.

At the risk of this escalating into the usual Prime free for all it IS free to existing Prime Members in the sense they have already paid and this has been added onto the benefits later. Clearly described in the title, I feel.

Yeah, but...

Only joking. I'm off to bag some free games from PS+ now anyway!
i stopped shopping with amazon due to the fact i feel blackmailed into getting prime, lower prices and now lol radio
*Free, only £79 a year

Thanks wasn't aware of this. Just wish they had a Sonos app for Prime music!
Amazon Prime is well worth the money. Prime is excellent, Instant Video, Music too with more services being added every few months. Surprised they haven't hiked the price.
Cheers OP, never knew about this.
Agreed. Amazon Prime is the best thing since sliced organic lactose free bread.

Amazon Video is going from strength to strength, Amazon Fresh will probably come out this year and bring an end to local supermarkets and Amazon is the best in the world at shopping.

Goodbye supermarkets, goodbye television, goodbye radio.
Prime really is starting to look like great value. When their pantry service improves with lower prices and greater ranges it'll turn into a no brainer.

Considering Amazon only sent the email about 30 min ago, neither did anyone.

tbh once you separate the things you get included with Prime it's a pretty good deal.
I mean with the "No-Rush Delivery" you can recoup the cost of Prime pretty quickly if you use Amazon a lot.
Amazon Video has got some good original series and the general content is getting better, the download option is a leap in the right direction as well.
The next day delivery is surprisingly useful and they even deliver on Sundays included in it which would cost a lot via any other service.

Not a deal then, if you need to pay £79pa for it X)
Only works on the primary account. That's a pain, as the wife and I have different amazon accounts (Amazon family)

I wonder if this is why it's not in Freebies?

Netflix are to clamp down this year on VPN usage allegedly, I can see that becoming a cat and mouse game with VPN providers changing IP ranges.
I added this earlier - it's pretty decent, think I'll cancel my Spotify now
Seems good but I already use Spotify/Chromecast Audio for this purpose...still, not going to turn my nose up at more services for my cash.

I have to echo the above comments about value for money with Prime...I got mine for £49 this year after saying I didn't want to pay full price, and even at £79 it would have been worth it for Prime Video and next day delivery alone. Currently watching "Arrow", brilliant series so I'm getting plenty of use out of it at the moment!
Someone is actually posting this as a deal? It's part of the prime membership if you have it so it's not a deal as such. Everyone on Prime got an email about it this morning.

People who like to watch sport? Amazon/Netflix have yet to really do anything on that front. There is certainly no good case for Sky Movies nowadays though.

Starsports for all Premier league matches, is free Indian based HD stream for all the matches.
Will be crispin blunt blunt on poppers and say I dislike big company tax dodgers who oppress their workers (which they do) but have to say after a free month on prime I cant fault it..Now get my stuff delivered to my local pick up at no extra cost,(2 mins from from my house),code gets sent to my phone soon as its there i.e no longer waiting in all day...On the video, box sets etc,its not quite netflix or now tv,but none the less some decent stuff on there...Amazon are scum but on this one I cant fault it...
Doesn't work for Windows Mobile. -_-

Yeah prime is king atm. I got 15 months for 59.99, true story
They seem to enjoy forcing this extra crap on you to justify the £80 membership, wish they'd just drop all the extras and left it at £50 for the original benefit I wanted it for.
