Voted hot, as been looking at these for a while and this is the cheapest price I've seen. Thanks.
Voted hot as The Killers are in the artwork.
Great for leaving at home on the dock. Or taking on holiday for a longer period of time. Wouldn't be without mine and can't see me upgrading to a large capacity touch version for 1000 times more.
Good price
Worth it for a in car HD
@tfish This thing has a 720p HD display?
I'm in.
love mine! only 1gb of space left! that's after downgrading everything to 128kb! great price!
Good price and voted hot, but I really do think the sound quality of these things are pretty poor.

Would love to see one of these with an SSD, but I bought an old gen 160GB second-hand off ebay for more than this a few years back!

It's one of the few music players out there with this capacity, but by hell I hate Apple with a passion! Still, hot!

huh
I have the 120gb version and prefer it to all the latest touch versions. Has more storage, better battery and very durable!
Hot.

Also same price at Tesco if you use the £20 off £150 voucher. If it's easier to collect and cashback from TCB too,
Not really relevant but in terms of realistic options for massive capacity the best choices seem to be this or the Cowon X7. Make no mistake, the Cowon absolutely and very noticeably destroys this in terms of sound quality and battery life, but if only the user interface was more like Apple's.

I've got a Cowon J3 which has a better interface than the X7 but still way behind Apple, but I can put up with it's quirks because of the amazing sound quality and battery life. Therefore I can't really go back to iPods. But I do wish there was a better option than these two for massive storage capacities. Merging this with the sound quality/battery life of the Cowon X7 would have been absolutely perfect.
Been looking to get a new one as the battery life is pants on my old 80GB, but I have had it forever
Thanks op
still overpriced for apple junk. cold
Is this the latest generation model
ashtad

Is this the latest generation model

Yes, September 2009
are these still crippled by the stupid EU sound limit that cant be taken off?
Hot! I got a 3rd gen 30gb iPod and these are awesome. You can never have enough storage IMO!8)
They aren't crippled - you can disable the volume limiter.

And for those wanting solid state you can swap out the drives for a CF card and adapter... Even using SD cards with a SD->CF adapter it isn't a cheap conversion if you want big capacity.
So does this contain a 2.5" hard drive?

So out of curiosity, if you were in the market for an Apple MP3 player, which of the other ones on the market with 160GB or higher storage would you go for?
Wow, my one of these lived in 2009 and died in 2010. First and last Apple product I ever bought. It was a short-lived piece of junk back then, yet people still pay £150+ for them now?

Baffling.

so how do you disable the volume limiter?
An alternative to these is a Samsung Galaxy S 8GB as standard with a 64GB sdcard, has all the pluses of running android also.

It seems really odd that the Zune didn't take off when there are no real alternatives to these iPods, I also hate apple but have just bought an 80gb classic for £60 of eBay.

with this rockbox.org/wik…ort , it also allows you to play all formats and generally makes this an awesome player

Hot from me, I've had my 80GB classic for around 5-6 years now, use it every day.

Not a 100% stable but still much better thn Apple's offering which hasn't seen an update since I bought mine several years ago.
Mine freezes regularly but on the plus side it's got a good capacity. Still preferred my old Zen but it wouldn't fit our dock so needs must
Bought my 80gb one over 6 years ago and despite needing charging more frequently these days, it's still going strong and still nothing beats it for capacity. Also a damn site easier to use in the car than a touch screen.

Maybe you were unlucky? My 60GB iPod from 2005 is still going strong.
My 80gb 5.5 from 2007 is still working.I bought 4th generation 64gb touch to increase my overall capacity for music.I always preferred the 80gb over the touch
Anyhow last year I bought the 160gb classic which I'm presuming will be as reliable as my old 80gb.I came across this deal by accident looking for an ipod touch for the kids. Now I've got to 160gb classic's I can have all my music portable.
That's why I posted this deal I know it is quite a niche market now but I know people similar to me will appreciate this deal
I love my ipod classic, had it for a couple of years now and it's still going strong. Can hold so much more music than any other ipods, at the end of the day an MP3 player should be for playing MP3's, I've got a serious collection of tracks in my itunes library with still plenty of room left. The only downside is having to use itunes on the same computer every time you want to upload music which is very frustrating. I'd probably go to say that my ipod is part of my every day life, would be lost without it

Really? Is that only on the later ones? I can update mine from any computer, but my iPhone only allows the same computer to be used every time. Mind you, I don't sync, just drag and drop, not sure if that makes a difference?
@ skellaway

CopyTrans software allows you to have your iTunes library installed on multiple computers/laptops. Also other useful features such as multiple music libraries within one iTunes on any one computer/laptop.

@ RichieCJ

Apple allow you to sync your iPhone with a maximum of five computers. You just have to authorise each one from within iTunes.

Cheekster.
Thanks Cheekster. Don't want to sync though, just drag and drop some tracks. Still won't let me
