This is a great price for the tablet!

This tablet is awesome but a little out of my price range, maybe if it was about say £150 I might buy it

is it better than the Samsung galaxy tab 3 8' inches 16 gb?

The quad core snapdragon 800,which is in the fire iirc is much newer and quicker than the exynos, i thnk, in the samsung.

ordered thanks very much

i have a kindle fire hd (1st gen) but hate they didnt put a back-facing camera on this one.
hot price nonetheless!

Brilliant just ordered one

Can you install apk

If you've been lucky enough or have a friend who already has a kindle. They may have a 10% off code for one. Mine worked out at £152 with the code.

on fire!

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is only £30 more than this and you get a £30 voucher with it too.

Think the speakers on this make it look great for media

Very tempting!!

This is the tablet you have to pay £10 to get rid of full screen adverts, gtfo Amazon

CAN I INSTALL STOCK GOOGLE ROM ON THIS?

Or is it Kindle OS, only?

Kindle OS only, might be able to flash a custom ROM but all pointless IMO, get a nexus 7 for that price or the £99 Nvida/Advent tegra tablet

No Google Play? No thank you. (Otherwise brilliant specs).

I was close to buying one a couple of weeks ago when they had the same offer. But the big problem with these are if you have bought apps on Play Store you will have to purchase them again through Amazon app store if you want them. So money is in pocket waiting for something without limitations.

If you root, you can install Play Store.

Much better display and its faster, 2.2 quad core versus 16 quad core. They are both plenty fast.

my friend has bought two kindles in the last month and maintains he didn't get the refer a friend 10% code. Are they just given to random buyers or does everyone get a code who buys a kindle?

If its anything like the Fire HD used to be, it is pretty easy to side load apps you have purchased/pirated/obtained elsewhere.

Has this expired or is there a code I'm missing? Seems to be £199 again now? Thanks!
