This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Kindle oasis is the largest dedicated e-reader that amazon makes.

A new model comes out next week so the old model is discounted at Amazon; the new model is not greatly different so a £30 saving GB is good.

You must be young because when you get older you cannot looks at displays all days long. Kindle is eye strain free as the display looks like a page of paper and the battery lasts for at least a month.

What is the advantage of a Kindle? I have Kindle for Pc.You can also get Kindle for ipod, android etc.Download whatever you want to any of them.
The display is usually better. I always have my laptop with me when I travel, so I don't. need to take two devices with me

Actually, I'm not young, its many years since I read even a real book for more than several hours. Life is too frantic
I dont have a problem looking at displays. I probably would if I was playing games continuously. Someone I know got headaches, they didn't realise until they stopped that it was because they were watching movies on a 12" ipad!
You have a point about battery life, though its not worth getting one just for that.
YMMV
Main benefit is portability. Not pleasant or practical in my opinion to read on a mobile phone whereas a kindle can easily slip into a jacket or even trouser pocket so no need for a laptop or tablet. I favour the voyage for quality and size but they seem to have stopped making them.
To be fair there are pros and cons to using an ereader or tablet on things such as weight, battery life, b&w/colour screen, screen size, storage, ease of holding, eye strain, readability in sunlight, waterproof/non waterproof etc. And of course many people only read real books and would not use a ereader or tablet. My mum has switched to a Kindle from real books because of failing eyesight as she can increase the size of the text on screen and can continue to be able to read. She is not able to use a tablet as she feels it's too complicated to use. So go for whatever fits your needs.
Kindles seems to get more expensive every year and offer very little over the previous model.

Amazon only allows wordwise on kindle devices and some android devices and not on iOS.

I don’t know why people claim it looks just like paper, I purchased one a few days ago and it doesn’t. The plastic screen feels weird despite 300 ppi.

Wordwise is a must have and makes the purchase worth it and water resistance is also great. I purchased the paper white edition.

There are cheaper versions of Kindle. Mine is from 2010 (keyboard version) and I still use it now. I think there is a £60 version.

It's a shame you haven't picked up a book in years. I think you should turn off all your notifications one night and try to start a book that your interested in. Books are amazing and people need to cherish them more but I agree modern life can get in the way of many things, relaxation being one.

I have nothing to do with Facebook or any of those other "life sharing" applications.
I do have a collection of my favorite books, built up from mainly the internet archive. They are basically photocopies of real books so they duplicate more realistically the look and feel of a real book, as pdfs, so i don't need a kindle to read them. Kindle books don't respect typefaces and often leave out illustrations and photographs.
