The 49 inch for £409 and the 55 for £509 seems like a decent price for this set. I know the 49 was cheaper through co-op earlier but this seems like the next best price.

Seems a good price, heat.

Anybody know how well this would suit Xbox One X?(I have invested in the console and need a suitable 4k TV).

I'm looking for the same Mattmuzz... this 55 version is currently in my amazon basket but 49 could be fine at 100 cheaper... just looking for a review

BF was a damp squib last year by numerous comments on here. I put off buying one of the xbox or PS4 deals in late OCT / early NOV thinking that BF would have better deals... and on BF they were far more expensive.

The only deals that stood out for me were some Dell hourly deals but they sold out so quickly that you got the impression that they had very little stock allocated to each deal.

Seems a good price and it includes 5 years breakdown too.

An overview HERE

So these were £459 and £359 with the Co-Op last week?

Expected as much, to be fair my son only wants it to replace his 2011 LG so the 43" will still be a good upgrade. Don't think he will notice it's not 10bit or that it's RGBW, as long as his Xbox one gets the green ticks he will be none the wiser.

I looked at this TV - the 49 inch one - in Currys last week - it was on for £479. It impressed me so much that it was the only TV that I wrote down the model number of before leaving.

Yes, I noticed the latest OLED Sony's, LG's and Samsung QLED's in the shop but had no need to make a note of their model numbers. But of all the other TV's this was the only model that I wrote down.

I think it would be very good for an xbox or playstation.

nice price for all from 43-55 inches. Might pick one up for my parents to replace their 14 years old plasma. Would like this tv as I like lg webos ui

Good deal but personally I'm waiting until the big day

I'm hoping the 43" will be available for £299 or lower in the Friday deals, price it is now is good but don't really want to be spending over £300 on a bedroom TV for a 16year old.

Send him down pit and no need to buy him a TV and then you can flog the xbox. You know it makes sense.

I think you are right - £299 for the 43 makes a lot more sense. This is a good £100 too much currently IMPO.

do any of these come with dual tuners? I want to be able to record and watch something else at the same time.

Cheaper at Argos with current code... 635v model

What are the differences between the LG models, they do UJ630V, UJ670V and UJ750V? Also are LG the standard in decent TV's nowadays, I was originally looking at the Samsungs but who knows as there are just so may out there now.

Looking to make the jump to Xbox One X soon so want a decent 4k screen to go with it.

You're right 55" model is £494.10 with code TV10 - I think the numbering difference is to avoid price matches, but likely the same TV
Edited by: "beret4breakfast" 14th Nov

this is looking like the TV I want to buy now within the next 10 days.

we are getting tantalisingly close to black friday hopefully it will reduce in price slightly more if co-op had the 49 inch version last week for £359 then surely there is a chance that this TV will get reduced even further.

This or the Hisense 49" model for £359 ?? Shame the 55 inch is out of stock though!

No 49" TV is really 4K from a practical perspective since the pixels are invisibly small at the normal 2-3m viewing distance.

This particular model does have some image retention, so it's may not be ideal for gaming/PC use. Although only temporary as far as I'm aware.

IIRC The 650 adds wide gamut, the 670 (abysmal) local dimming and the 701 fancier speakers. I'm not sure about the 750.

LG's OLEDs are the standard, their LCDs like this receive a mixed reception. They're highly rated at usability aspects - decent interface etc. but they can sometimes be frowned upon due to their use of low contrast IPS panels and some of their image processing not being up to scratch (motion interpolation etc.)

Sony are probably the best for picture quality on any given hardware but their Smart TV systems aren't the best (the cheaper one lacks apps, the more expensive isn't a little less responsive than ideal) and they tend to be a bit more expensive than the competition.

Nothing at this price is really going to show off HDR in games.

I am very tempted at 43” for the bedroom. That’s only TV viewing in there so I’m sure it will suffice compare to the lounge where I have a much better unit installed.

Question is ...

Now or hold for Black Friday??

You’re are likely going to need to spend a good bit more than £500 to get a true 4k screen and good HDR for the new Xbox one x

It was disgusting last year a MASSIVE rip off.
I had intended buying a number of things and had the money put by.
Didn't buy anything. EVERYWHERE it was no bloody different price wise
Hope its better this year

Strange thing is Hisense were everywhere a few months ago. Now they seem to be disappearing from shops. My favourite, Fenwicks in Newcastle had LOADS of different Hisense - now there isn't ONE

What makes you say this? Curry's showed me a demo of a few One X games on the LG's between £400 - £549 and the picture is a big improvement on my currently Full HD + Original Xbox One set up. Surely a TV which offers 4K and HDR is going to get the most out of the new Xbox?

I have read a few posts on hotukdeals from owners complaining that the Hisense fail after about a year or so - people saying that they felt that their TV's were failing once the guarantee had run out... but I doubt that Hisense knows what date people buy their TV's...

Anyhow, maybe there is a high failure rate with them and retailers are fed up with having to deal with lots of returns / warranty issues so just have stopped stocking them? Maybe someone else has some info?

Just managed to get the 55 for £478 via warehouse deals, description read used - as new.. no scratches and original box!

Nah you can get the entry level 4k hdr 10 or 8+2 tvs and they look stunning... no need to go mental

Just returned this one (43"). Very bad viewing angles if your're not sitting right in front and in line. Also, not that bright & a tad bit of motion blur too.

Here's a comparison of other LG models with this one - Might fare better with a different model

It does have freesat and freeview but it's doubtful that you'll be able to record off one and watch the other, usually sets with both disable one to use the other, I know all the LG sets I've had don't allow you to start recording a satellite channel and watch the freeview tuner.
