Elephone P9000 on a lightning deal from Amazon, saving 21% on the usual price of £189.00 which according to CamelCamelCamel is the lowest price its been.

Reviews seem fair for a phone this price, though the experts here might disagree.

Android Pay not supported on this unfortunately (unless things have changed):

I've voted hot because:
1) It's Amazon so anything that goes wrong even up to a year and they will give your money back in a hassle free manner.
2) If you want a P9000 it will cost you only £10 less than this shipped from China, which takes weeks and potentially you could get super unlucky and charged tax.

I'm using a P8000 which I've had for a year and paid £106 for. It's good but I've dropped it onto concrete about 50 times and I've damaged things gradually.
My fingerprint scanner and headphone jack don't work anymore. My camera focus has been damaged and my screen needs physically bending to keep it working!

I wouldn't upgrade to the P9000 because it's got a smaller battery than the P8000.
The camera, RAM, processor and internal storage are all a step up, but the difference isn't enough for me to upgrade.

If we were talking 64GB/4GB and an X10/X20, or Snapdragon 615/650/810 with a 4000mah battery then I'd bite.

There was a promo directly with elephone when this model launched that meant you could pay $5 and get $50 off the phone meaning it was about £130 but again it wouldn't have the Amazon warranty.

Heat added because all in all you should be happy with this phone - if you're not Amazon have got your back.

May be worth checking whether it will support 2G/3G/4G for your network also, here:

Good idea, checked and works on the 'big four'

I trapped my P8000 in the car door with such impact that it bent the phone giving it an amazing vertical curve. Surprisingly the screen was still intact, not even a scratch on it.

Like a tank.

the new update made the phone useless

Elephone sounds like a Fisher Price toy.

Don't expect the same from the P9000. The screen cracked in my pocket with only the phone in there.

Lightning deal, follow the link, its still got 45 minutes to go.

bought one a couple of weeks ago with same deal. few hours on charge and charger blew up, fortunately breaker tripped, cutting power. If you leave your stuff on charge over night, leave this well alone. dropbox.com/sh/…l=0

Ordinary at best. This is the same with most (if not all) Chinese-based mid-range phones with the exception of the Xiaomi Mi 5 possibly, & a handful of others.

i also have both the p8000 and s2 from elephone. If the dev community don't develop custom roms for them don't expect much from elephone, they are notorious (like many other chinese firms) of not updating, being late or when updating causing problems. The p8000, for instance, recently had a marshmallow update which broke the finger print reader so most people stayed with lollipop. The S2 never once had any updates including any security ones and again it was the dev community that issued a stagefright security update, elephone never even bothered.
The P9000 is a nice phone and great value for money but it also has it's problem, e.g. although it has nfc it does not work with android pay and google has publically stated it is because elephone built their rom with dev keys and therefore was unable to pass the google certification for android pay; this basically render nfc useless unless you just use it to pair some printer or other function. For the price quoted it is a good deal but a little research would suggest other (chinese) phones can match it; eg. in the end I opted for an honor 5c that does have nfc/android pay fully functional. Horses for courses I know, but what i've learnt is elephone is not a company that will give you any udpates any time soon.

still at £180 mark, 3 months later. wonder why it hasnt dropped
