If you are a student, you can get amazon music unlimited for 6 months for £6, then 4.99 a months, down from 7.99.

It says "must verify enrollment in a recognized degree-granting university to qualify". So this isnt going to work if all you have is a nus card.

FAQs
How do I qualify for Amazon Music Unlimited for Students?
If you’re a student currently enrolled in a recognised degree-granting university in the UK, you can start the registration process for Amazon Music Unlimited for Students at amazon.co.uk/Unl…nt.

As part of the subscription process, you will be asked to provide verification of enrollment. Verification is confirmed with third-party vendor, SheerID. If your student status can’t be automatically verified, you’ll be asked to manually upload enrollment documentation. You must provide one of the following:

• Official Enrollment Letter from your academic institution (acceptance letters will not be approved)
• Class schedule for the current academic term
• Registration receipt or tuition receipt
• Transcript that shows classes currently in progress
• Other university issued document that displays your first/last name, an issue date from the current term or within the last three months

If your school is not covered by SheerID, you can request to add it here: verify.sheerid.com/ama…ic. Some technical and vocational schools may not qualify for the Amazon Music Unlimited for Students discount.

Once eligibility is confirmed, you will have access to Amazon Music Unlimited. You can use the Student discount for a total of four years with concurrent student enrollment.

Heated great deal. I've been using Amazon Music Unlimited on a 4 month trial and like it a lot, compares pretty well with the competition IMHO. Wouldn't pay £7.99pm for it but then again it's still better priced than Spotify / Google Play Music etc at £10pm.

Would have tried for this as I am a student member but just on an online course so I suspect it wouldn't qualify for this as it doesn't grant a degree but great if you can get it....

Yes but Spotify does take NUS. So it's £4.99 if you have one. Amazon looks to be clamping down, not that I'm surprised.
Does anyone know if my daughter ( a student) signs up for this if we could use it on the alexa dot which the whole family uses but is registered to my Amazon account

If you are only going to use it on the one dot the echo plan for one device for £3.99 is cheaper option

£6 for 6 months appealed rather than a long term thing! Thanks though ..
How does this compare to Spotify?
Thanks for pointing this out, doing a postgrad course in spare time and was able to redeem this. A huge feather in Music Unlimited's cap is the fact it has a web player and my work internet doesn't block it. I'll be spending a lot of time at the computer over next 12 months, so this is a big benefit.

How does this compare to Spotify?

pretty much similar if not identical. but works out cheaper (if not on a special deal) if you are already a Prime member. With this deal as a prime member student is even cheaper , otherwise is £4.99 per month for students. Since Spotify has recently change their student discount to the Unidays members and not to the NUS Extra Card members, this is definitely more appealing for certain students not on Unidays. Also amazon music available free to prime members doesn't have ads instead spotify Free contains annoying ads. I hope this helps.
