Great deal, if you can cope with the Amazon music app!

Amazon are being a bit naughty here. The 3 months for £3 includes the first month free trial period. This offer subscribes you to the monthly £14.99 payment plan. So it calculates as follows.
1st month. Free trial.
2nd month. £14.99 credit from Amazon. (So free to you)
3rd month. £11.99 credit from Amazon. (£3 from you)
Remaining months £14.99.
12 months price including the free trial and 2 months for £3 is £137.91 = £11.49
Total saving £26.98
So no trial period then 3 months for £3 unfortunately. That would've been a good deal.

If you go for the one off payment it calculates as.
1st month. Free trial.
2nd month. £149.99 for 12 months so effectively £29.98 discount (2 months free)
13 months for £149.99
This has been the standard offer from the start and is £3 cheaper than the "special offer".

And if you got the 3 months for 99p deal you can't stack this one on top

It would seem we got 4 months, as the 3 months for £3 starts after the 30 day free trial. Heat added - thank you OP as we missed the 99p deal but now more than happy.

Not working for me could be because I pay 7.99 for prime
well worth it though heat

Not quite. The 30 day free is incorporated into it so you get two additional months on top of the free month for the £3 so 3 months in total.

Damn it, did the 99p deal yesterday as it was about to expire. Would have preferred the family plan. 🙃

will soon find out ay. it says...
"On 01 January 2018, your Unlimited for Family subscription will renew at £0.00/month. The following promotion applies after your 30-day Free Trial: £3 in month 3. Once your credit is used up, the crossed-out price applies. "
which leads me to believe the 3 onths for £ will start after the trial.
either way having over xmas will be great

I bought the single plan 99p for 3 months, but I would have preferred this.

£41.97 saving is made up of the £26.98 saving for this deal and counting the free trial at £14.99. Every new subscription gets the trial for free.
Better to say £26.98 saving.

Only 3 months including free trial month. It's clearly described in the T&C's here at the bottom of the page of this link.

Unfortunately it doesn't. 3 months including trial month. Here's the link to T&C's info at bottom of the page.

We'll, if you do a free trial you're still saving £14.99 so it's technically correct, but I know what you mean.

You only get an additional saving of £26.98, which is still a good deal if you want to try the service for a bit longer

Hi Ben,
Any saving is a good saving. Just don't like the way Amazon have promoted this one. Should have said 2 months for £3. That would've been a fair way to advertise this deal. It's limited to new subscribers after all and every new sub. Gets 1 month free. Like I mentioned before. Sneaky.
btw I've nothing against Amazon. I think it's brilliant and I have prime

Will be a £41.97 saving for me. Thankyou very much OP

Damn, my Groupon deal is still on but want to upgrade to family cos we now have echos all over the house & the kids are getting their own for Christmas for the toy room.

Such a shame I can't use this.

For those who don't know, Amazon Music is now Chromecast compatible.

Just to clarify from the T&Cs...

£3 in month 3
1. Offer is for new Amazon Music Unlimited UK account holders only.
2. This offer gives you a discount of £26.98 towards a Family monthly subscription once a 30-day free trial of Amazon Music Unlimited is over. It is NOT an extension of the free trial. When you select the Family monthly plan it will (after the first free 30 days) apply the £26.98 towards your subscription, discounting £14.99 in month two and £11.99 in month three, so you only have to pay £3. When the discount has been fully used up, you will pay the full monthly price of £14.99.

That deal isn't coming up for me, just the standard pricing. Is there a code?

I bought myself an echo for downstairs and two dots for each of the kids rooms. What's the best way to set it all up so we can listen to different things in different rooms?

Hi string,
The deal is only available to those who have never used the trial or previous offers.
The code is FAMILY3

regards

Great deal! Thanks OP

Awful compared to Spotify

You need amazon unlimited family subscription.

Or just listen to Amazon music on one & radio stations on the others. Which is obv more restrictive.

Does Amazon music have the same amount of artists/songs as say Deezer/Spotify?

What's so bad about it? I have only used it very briefly when walking to uni, so for like 10 minutes at a time. Wondering if I should get unlimited or just stick with just prime as it has most music I want anyway.

Don't forget that as part of Prime you can upload 250 songs to your music cloud and they'll play through your Echo. Worth doing that if you typically listen to the same albums.

Thank you!

I used Spotify for 3 months, went back to Amazon and id say they are pretty similar!

I’ve been a Spotify user for years, but did this offer as we’re having some parties over Xmas and wanted to use multiroom audio with my echos.. so far the amazon music app beats Spotify hands down and I reckon I’ll be keeping amazon and dumping Spotify.

Code invalid. Crap

can you cancel after 3 months or do you have to keep for the year thanks looks great

I think that's only with Android- can't see the option on my iPhone unfortunately.

Unless you pay up front, you can cancel - you don't have wait until trial is up, just go into your account and cancel the auto renew.

Agreed.

The only thing I miss from Spotify is the gapless playback.

That said, the multiroom features mean the trade off is well worth it.

It used to be free as part of Prime membership. Now it isn't.

Gonz35 m ago

It was never free. Amazon Music still is free with prime. But amazon music unlimited isn't.

How do people find Amazon Music compared to Spotify?

How's their library compared to spotify?

I don't know how it is compared to Spotify but they advertise that they have 40 million songs.
