Amazon Prime for £39 (+6 months free) when you get student status: (£9 via Wowcher) + NUS card (£12)

**Sign up for an online course affiliated with the NUS, then apply for NUS card (£12), go on Amazon chat with a scan of your NUS card and get Prime for £39, any full price rime refunded, plus 6 months free.**

This can all be sorted on the same day, read on..

WHEN YOU HAVE PAID FOR YOUR NUS CARD, DOWNLOAD THE APP, AND SCREENSHOT YOUR CARD. TALK TO AMAZON CHAT TO GET A REFUND ON YOUR REMAINING FULL PRICE PRIME, THEN 6 MONTHS FREE, THEN A YEAR AT £39!!!

Scan and email your NUS card to Amazon customer services and they apply your Student Prime status. (Exactly what they advised me to do, and exactly how it works.)

Buying an online course subscription is a perfectly legal, legitimate way to get student status, entitling you to buy an NUS card.

I did this 2 years ago, it's still working a treat and gets me Amazon Student Prime for £39, Spotify half price, discounts all over the place including 10% off in most Co-Op supermarkets, as well as attractions, restaurants etc.

Buy the coupon, sign up for the children's story writing course, then follow their instructions for NUS sign-up, which are basically as follows:

Visit: cards.nusextra.co.uk and follow the sign-up instructions.

When entering your course details, it doesn't really matter what you enter (I don't think), I'd put 'Literature", today's start date and a distant date in the future without taking the p***!

LAST UPDATE (for now): When you have bought your NUS card, download the NUS app. That displays your photo card and all the details you need for Amazon Prime. Take a screenshot and email that to Amazon. Many people have got it all sorted, a pro rata refund for their full price (or £59) prime, and got 6 months free staring from today.

Enrolling in Amazon Student Without a Recognised E-mail Address:
If you are 18 or over and able to provide proof of enrolment in at least one course at a university or college located in the UK, you may be eligible to enrol in Amazon Student through an alternative process.

To provide proof of age and enrolment, please send an e-mail to amazon-student-verification@amazon.co.uk from the e-mail address associated with your Amazon.co.uk account.
Please also ensure that your bank card (credit / debit) details are up-to-date before writing to us.
You can check your card details within Manage Your Payment Methods.

In the message, include a scan, photo or screenshot of one of the following:

  • A valid NUS Extra or NUS Apprentice Extra card (must show your name, institution, and date of expiry)
Community Updates
NUS no longer recognizes Digital Sea LTD as a legitimate educational institute, which I have to agree as through the sign up process I found errors in basic literacy and numeracy (for example they believed 3/4 to be equal to 70%) and on this basis groupon refunded the £14 for me.

Thanks for this I find the best value in my card is 10% off at Co-Op. Shame Apple Music doesn't accept NUS.

how exactly is that a lifetime student status the title is a bit …how exactly is that a lifetime student status the title is a bit misleading cos right at the end you say ............ and next year you'll have to renew your card for £12 ????

Because you get lifetime student status with the writing course which allows lifetime access, i.e. you're a student for life.

You don't get lifetime NUS membership, all students have to pay for a new NUS card annually (of you can buy 3 years in a row).

I'm still working on how to get around Unidays!

Sounds like £14 for student status, then £12 a year for the NUS card.

Will the course ever be cancelled/withdrawn meaning you won't have student status anymore?

If you think they writing course is a good deal then that's awesome.
Although I posted it as a good way to unlock the benefits of an NUS card.

I suppose that's a possibility! I should put that in the small print.
I bought mine a few years ago, I don't imagine the upkeep of an online course is that much, and I'm fairly sure they know most people only use it to get an NUS card, so it's probably a nice little earner for them...

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together will get what you mean.
Have they stopped doing the 6 months free?
Thanks OP
What you really need though is a .edu email address to really benefit from discounts everywhere. Any ideas?
Awesome work dude. Hot.

Haha! HUKD took 'lifetime student status' out of my title.
I don't think it was yhat misleading, the point is you don't have to keep buying a new course like most of the others I've come across.

No what you need is a valid UK one, I have a edu email but only can get a USA one online so useless for unidays but works for nus extra and student beans.

Even better when tesco have the 20% off gift card deal!

I thought i would give this a try. However, there is nothing in either email or online once registered to show you a verifiable SYD (Student Number) required by NUS in order to secure the card.
Does this mean I can vote as many times as I like in elections X)
i got student card with similar deal. just wish i could get the ac.uk email address. even though i have not got the ac.uk email address i have made my money at least 5 times over already. great deal.

Just putting your email address will usually do it
So have purchased the course via Groupon and gone to writestorybooksforchildren.com/vou…er/ to redeem the voucher and it claims that the coupon code I have entered has expired!

It's on the course website when you log in. It may take a day or so to appear, can't remember) but those 1. 2. 3. steps I listed in the description were copy/pasted and showed my ID which I replaced with 'xxxxx'

Weird. Groupon's T&Cs state "must be redeemed by 30th April 2018".
Try again then get on to Groupon or email the course provider.

If you want to get Unidays discounts.
If you have been to University and successfully completed a course, some of them offer a lifetime email address.

I left over 16 years ago, however I recently got the university to set me up with a .ac.uk account.

Can't complain!
