These are very good headphones at a very good price. If you're looking for a deal, this is it!

EDIT: People have stated that Argos stocks these for £69.99 and isn't pre-order: argos.co.uk/pro…808

Not as much of a joke as someone who thinks open backed headphones could have noise cancellation...

£70 at argos

Seem to be £69.99 in Argos if anybody needs them for immediate delivery:

£160+ everywhere else. Suspect price error

For those seeking a more critical and even-keeled sound with decent lows and highs, but a beefed-up midrange, the HD 579 is a Sure Thing.

Rap and rock lovers should go for the HD 599. But this price, go for it

A £5 voucher back at Argos too?

Reviewer :

Decent price. Surprised the cable terminates in a 6.3mm jack, suspect many will use the 3.5mm adapter which puts additional strain on the socket.

So is it easy to find replacement ear pads/cable for these?

I suspect that's exactly what May has often said to Trump.....recently

Good price, nice find!

Check this out for Sennheiser HD 559 - 569 - 579 -599 comparison

Spoiler: Headband is not the most comfortable of all but warm sound, great clarity, tight punchy bass makes it his personal favorite among HD5XXs according to reviewer

No its not, they are quite good headphones.

If you don't need noise cancellation then you will get better sound quality without it, the best headphones don't have it. Like for like sound quality on headphones with and without noise cancellation come at very different prices (in general).

The fact that these are open back headphones means that they are not really supposed to be used in noisy places anyway, unless you are inconsiderate and want everyone else to listen to whatever you are listening to (bear that in mind when buying these everyone).

Shouldn't have any issues, I can still buy spares for the Sennheiser's I bought almost 20 years ago.

Shame there open back

In fairness this maybe wants putting on the main post with a brief explanation of what this is to save funny looks on the tube/bus for unsuspecting buyers.

First time buying open back headphones.

Anyone recommend them over closed back?

Is the sound quality better?

Only intending to listen to music in my room.

I have a pair of gaming "closed back" headphones which are good for games but pants for music, so I am getting sick of the poor quality, hence my purchase of these.

Open back is generally better for what you are wanting them for. If it doesn't matter about people hearing whats on them, they tend (in general) to offer a more spacious sound. You can get very good (and bad) sounding of both, but in general you want open for home, closed for out and about.

Don’t feed the troll.

Might get a Yamaha P115 or P255 keyboard at Xmas. Would this work well with it?

Logged in to updoot this. Ended up buying from Argos because I'm too stingey for Prime. Picking them up tomorrow.

Nice find OP!

He's not a troll. It's an aposite comment

Still running a pair of 555's from donkeys years ago. Hope they still make them like they used to.

Good headphones and good price, but misleading to say these are better than or even equivalent to the 599. I have compared these to 598/599 and while similar on low end the bass and spacing is noticeably different even on simple (non high end) outputs.

I have ordered a pair to pick up from Argos. Was wanting a pair of headphones and although was wanting to go more high end than these I doubt the affordability of that will appear any time soon so thought for £70 they must be worth a go.

Better to buy from Argos who actually book their sales in the UK and pay tax here.

What are these like in comparison to the ATH-M50X headphones?
