Ignore the negativity, OP. It's a good offer, heat added for sharing it with those that don't know about it.

We're not all clever cloggs'

You don't need an ac.uk email. I just sent them across a picture of my NUS card and they signed me up.

You can join with an NUS card and dont need a .ac.uk email address.

Enrolling in Prime Student Without a Recognised E-mail Address
If you are 18 or over and able to provide proof of enrolment in at least one course at a university or college located in the UK, you may be eligible to enrol in Prime Student through an alternative process.

To provide proof of age and enrolment, please send an e-mail to amazon-student-verification@amazon.co.uk from the e-mail address associated with your Amazon.co.uk account. Please also ensure that your bank card (credit / debit) details are up-to-date before writing to us. You can check your card details within Manage Your Payment Methods.

In the message, include a scan, photo or screenshot of one of the following:

  • A valid NUS Extra or NUS Apprentice Extra card (must show your name, institution, and date of expiry)
  • A proof of student status letter (must be printed on official institution headed paper and include student name and address, course details and start date, expected graduation/completion date).
  • A tuition bill for the current term (must include institution name, course details and start date, student address).
  • A tuition invoice for the current term with your name and your institution’s name on it.
  • An official acceptance letter for the upcoming term (must be printed on official institution headed paper and include student name and address, course details and enrolment date, expected graduation/completion date).
If we determine you're eligible, we'll send you a follow-up e-mail within 3-5 business days that contains a link which allows you to complete the sign-up process without an .ac.uk e-mail address. However, you must sign-up for Prime Student within 14 days of receiving this follow-up e-mail, otherwise you will need to contact Customer Service again to register. By completing this sign-up process, you agree to our Terms and Conditions.

The madness of this is that prime doesn’t ‘recognise’ my ac.uk legit address, yet allows someone who signed up to a free course and got an NUS card to do so!

I agree with you @NaughtyDog - having got a student loan for an HE course so I can hopefully get into uni next year - it is annoying when people who aren't genuine students apply and gain the benefits of us students.

My son's at college can he sign up for this or is it university students only? He's nearly 17 if that makes a difference and has a ac.uk email address. I have prime at the moment that's due to renew mid November so was hoping for a black Friday £59 offer but this could be much better.

I have an amazon account but not prime. I have an NUS card, am I able to keep my account and join as a student? Or do I need to create a new account for it?

You should be able to simply upgrade your account to it

You keep your original one. Just need to email the email address in the link I posted.

Don’t understand the hate? Alot of people know about it, yeah, if you do move on, still a good deal and gets it out there so people who haven’t see it get to or people can tell their families and get the word spread. Old or new good deal(mad)
