Just noticed a amazon prime video app is available for download from play store for android devices. Not sure how long it's been out for but handy for prime users

Used to be available only on Amazon App Store which you had to install onto the android first, but now it's much easier!

Been on for a while now, 3 or 4 weeks. Makes updating easier. Also the Amazon shopping app on Play Store is feature identical to the Amazon Appstore one now as well.

Been on Google Play for ages

Useful but still limited use if you can't cast from it e.g. for chromecast and other cast enabled devices....

Hopefully this is a sign that the fighting between Google and Amazon is lessening.

Still not enough to allow casting from it, sadly.

Because it's not free you have to have a subscription. Or purchase content.

That makes no sense. So all subscription based things are cold here? No...
It is prob cold because people dont care about an app that they already had or didnt know about as it is on their TV or player.

No, all subscription based things are not freebies. This is in the freebie section, not deals.
Fox example I can list the Disney Life , Netflix, Now TV etc. Apps under freebies but they're not free to use and would be rightfully downvoted.
Unless talking about a free trial which this post wasnt.

It’s hard to work out where to put this I guess but it’s good to know the app is in the Play Store. Amazon Prime is one of the subscriptions I don’t mind paying for as it far exceeds its cost in pure value all round, and the customer service is stellar - quick, efficient and knowledgeable

Agree with plewis00. Voting hot as good to know as I'm still using the sideloaded version + the app is free so personally I think this is the right section as not a deal as such.

Heat added

Content isn't the greatest for just a Prime user, whose tight like me and not willing to pay extra...
Most the films are pretty old and many never heard of, but usually manage to find something to watch and when you are only an occasional streamer, its sufficient, but Now TV beats it hands down.

Still good value, when you use the Amazon Music, Movies and the free delivery.
