Got this this week with 5% off on top from Unidays. Was after a cheap laptop with decent performance and SSD, this has a 1 year Amazon guarantee which I would take over any other seller TBH.

Coming from a Chromebook so small storage not an issue.

Just because it's an i5 doesn't mean it's a good processor. It's getting on to be 4 years old, technology has progressed a hell of a long way in that time

Mobile phones have better screen resolution. Why aren't all laptops at least 1920x1080!!!!!!!!!!?????????

Umm, why does it have to be non Lenovo?!! The Thinkpad line are THE obvious and much cheaper choice...with similar or better build quality!

Oh, and a 128GB SSD is about £30. So that leaves £230 in the kitty...which will buy you a far better bit of kit than this!

The laptop looks about 300 years old.

This processor Intel Core i5-3340M @ 2.70GHz CPU Mark 4196

Latest intel Core i5-6300U @ 2.40GHz Average CPU Mark 4300

Not really much difference, newer CPU's sacrifice power for battery life. Intel now only produce minor performance increases between generations, the integrated GPU's are better but nobody is buying this for its video or gaming performance. The latitudes are well built business spec laptops that are easy to maintain, one screw and off comes the back and everything can be got at. Saying that there are loads of business machines for sale on ebay and for £270 you should be able to get something a little better
Dell Laptop Latitude E6430 CORE I5 3320M @ 2.60GHz, 128GB SSD, 8GB,WIN 7 PRO With docking station ''A'' Grade £245 on the bay.

LOL £270

I buy these for £80 to £130 tops. Sure without ssd but they're £40 for this size and 8GB ram is £20.

This is £100+ over priced.

No it hasn't. That 3rd gen i5 is still a decent processor cpubenchmark.net/cpu…GHz
But Freggles has overpaid for this laptop.

These do have magnesium chassis and are robust. we used to use them in my office until 3 years ago. I still deploy them to interns. The issue is the the weight vs a latitude E7 series. £270 is excessive for a gen 3 i5.

The 'spyware' was NEVER on corporate machines. It is also completed removed when installing s clean copy of Windows.

So feel free to remove the tin foil hate. It's not needed

Last years model.

OP how did you get 5% off with unidays? I can't see Amazon listed on the app.

Not refurbished enough to wipe the fingerprints off their prime example

Not the cheapest but anyone looking at buying a laptop should consider this, with a 120gb ssd this will be faster than anything you can buy off the shelf from pc world.. Don't worry about people saying it's an old cpu it makes no difference for office apps this machine will rock... These models are a few years old but are top quality systems.. It Will destroy a £350 new laptop (mostly because of the ssd) and have a much better build quality

I bought one on ebay and buy the time i had bought a hdd caddy for the dvd bay and a 128gb ssd it cost me just under half this price! That was for my Mother. It worked well enough that I set up a second one and swapped out the 320gb hdd for a 500g WD I had kicking around. Granted I didn't bother upping the ram to 8gb - I've not needed that much as yet. But I have a 128gb ssd AND a 500gb storage drive

Awful advice, even with the SSD this is a terrible price. Oh and this particular model has problems with the case coming apart a certain points in the chassis.

But you need to look at the power consumption and the graphics being over 100% more powerful (the graphics performance goes up ~50% every generation). And lets not get started on the state of the battery.

Lenovo T series I'd rate on par with the E6xxx models. It's why I currently use an E6330 as it represented the best deal compared to a Thinkpad at the time I got it.

However, there is no deal on this. I picked my E series up for £130 and that was 18months ago now, opted for a pristine machine with the i3 rather than a grubby i5 for the same money. £150 can pick you up this model quite easily with the same overall specs, + a warranty, add £50 on an SSD and you're still coming in cheaper and ending up with a 160/320/500gb hard drive you can use for other things too.

these laptops are quick with ssds in but at 100 quid ish without ssd, I got couple for DJ work ideal, built well. connector for ROM drive weak when fitting extra CD caddy. but bargain laptops

£270, used with i5 and 128GB SSD, non FHD.

That is way too expensive.

For that price, you should be getting used Ultrabook with IPS FHD, i5 and SSD.

First of all, show me where it says lifetime amazon support.

Second of all, what is included in amazon support? If you laptop fails, do they replace for you lifetime? I doubt it.

They don't advertise it but trust me, buy anything from Amazon (sold by them) it will have lifetime warranty.
