Why?

Know about technology and how it can be used against you. Naive to trust so much, devices which can listen in and be hackable etc. Makes life simpler without.

https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ring-pro-video-doorbell-kit-with-chime-full-hd-1080p-free-amazon-echo-dot-3430137 Seems to be same price but includes chime as well?

Nice find!
Just remember to use code FREEDOT as looks like you don't get the Echo Dot included unless you use the code.
How easy are these to install given there ain’t going to be an electrician popping round any time soon

If you looked it up correctly, you’d find that most of these ‘hacks’ etc are not genuine hacks but are where people use the same passwords etc on different accounts. Firstly don’t use the same password on everything and use 2 factor authentication m

If you understand basic wiring and information about fuse board etc, you can do it yourself. You just need to ensure you can install the transformer yourself which is normally a swap out and place on dim rail. Or if your current transformer sits in the chime box, you’ll need a separate transformer box and fix to wall

or simply plugged into a standard UK socket with the Ring plug-In adapter. Depends if you've a socket the other side of the wall. We use a third-party adapter as Ring want £25 at 6 meters lol.

Which third party adapter do you use?

Your loss then. Presumably you won’t use smartphones, tablets, PCs, or any other deviously dangerous device that connects to the internet?
