I'm guessing this is account specific but switching on my Firestick this morning and I have an offer for a £10 promotional reward to spend on movie or TV rentals.

I'd suggest there's far more people who don't own one than do, off the top of my head I can't think of anyone I know that have a firestick in their household so this must be an extremely small community targeted offer.

Just a few thoughts:
- Easy, low barrier for entry. Plug and play with little setup beyond connecting to Wi-Fi
- They are comparatively cheap (vs consoles, Smart TVs and most set top boxes)
- They bring 'smart' features to non-smart TVs - for me I didn't feel the need to replace kitchen and bedroom TVs to add Netflix et al
- IMO unless you have a web OS based smart TV the apps work better than most built into such TVs
- There are games (party games especially) that don't feature or are more expensive on other platforms
- They are portable - easily taken when travelling
- many have Alexa built-in if that's your thing

I have 3 fire sticks and the family and friends have one or more. Think it makes a nice change to see offers for existing users rather than just to attract new sales (though obviously this is to internally promote their video platform).

Original Poster

No problem, done that.

Afraid I have not got it on my Firestick this morning.

I also have the promotion on my home screen. Though when I attempt to redeem it tells me it has already been redeemed or is invalid. Did anyone have any success? I have been on to amazon customer service for the past half hour and they are looking into the issue

Not on mine either 😔but well done you

Mime says invalid too

I'll check when I get home but I doubt i'll have it

Thanks, I'll have to take a look on my Fire TV box when I get home!

My Fire Stick ain't been used for 2 years and the Mrs lost my remote
I can't check

You can download the fire remote app and use that instead of the physical remote (I use it all the time when I misplace the tiny remote)

Amazon Fire TV Remote App if you have an android device?

Will check too

Not showing on mine

Is this just for the TV stick or would it be for the Fire box too? I checked my box and didn't see it

Nice spot, thanks OP
It wasn't showing at first but I restarted the stick and it appeared, so for anyone that doesn't see it then it might be worth a restart.

Thanks. Also wasn't showing on mine but once I restarted it was there

Worked on mine, thanks!

I have 3 non smart bedroom tvs and I also used one in my old plasma that although it was smart it was very old and unusable. I since bought an LG oled so no longer use the Firestick for Netflix or Amazon but I still use it for Kodi on the main tv.

Beacuse it probably takes longer to post a link than to search for it in the app/play store.

Still totally salty about them not sending me an email for the money off promo, so still don't have one...

Great spot though if you have one, so heat added!

We got an old UK Samsung smart as such that's lost it's smart features and a German/Austrian/Swiss Samsung current smart not compatible with UK market smart features in two of our bedrooms so I am kind of in the same boat as you.

That said we have got a 360, a PS3, a Wii U, a PS4, an Xbone S, a Switch(that we're returning later having changed my mind on it after buying it yesterday), a Yoga book and an iPad as well as Sky Q multiroom with an additional mini box that can be connected to any telly in the house instantly and a couple of Xbone X's coming next week when put like that I suppose that might be why I don't see the need for a firestick so I'll stand corrected.

I had to get it for Mrs Loyal for whenever she used to use it for streaming Sky Go or Netflix before we got the Sky Q as she refuses point blank to pick up a games controller it's as un-lady like as drinking pints apparently.

The simple answer to your initial question...you don’t get the £10. This is clearly a reward for those with a firestick. They must be selling well enough for them to make newer models. I know LOADS of people with them, myself included. Granted most were to run kodi, which can’t be done from most smart TVs and consoles. You’ll have some people vote this cold for the same reason PS4 fanboys vote Xbox deals cold or vice versa. It’s a free £10 spend...you win some, you lose some. Hot from me, I’ll be checking when I get home

The peasants will be going nuts over this one.

even though most of them use their fire sticks to use kodi, they will not be happy if they do t get that golden digital tenner

I'm not entirely sure I was giving the impression I feel that self entitled that I was expecting a free tenner I was more getting at the fact I was unaware there were so many of you firestickers out there to benefit from this epic giveaway of lotto proportions

My initial question was 100% genuine and sincere because even only last week a few of us were discussing the firestick at work with not one of us owning one. Kodi did come up and one fella said his nan and grandad have got one thus the general consensus was that apart from the Kodi thing it was more likely to be the domain of the older generation because they are less likely to upgrade televisions regularly, less likely to own consoles and less likely to weigh on for premium pay TV channels.

I've not voted hot or cold because I don't even consider this a 'deal' let alone being a fan or hater of it, have never even had one in my hand let alone used it. I wasn't aware there were other sticks out there that compete with the Amazon one so absolutely no fan boy angle from me at all either I can assure you.

We subscribe to Prime annually, we got an Alexa and we are what I'd describe as fairly prolific customers of Amazon in general, like at least once a week along with quite a lot of items monthly on the 'subscribe and save' service too but firesticks are a thing that are entirely alien to our household so let me wish you all the best with your £10, and please try not to blow it all at once

No surprise this wasn’t on my fire stick. Mines old school version one. I will bet the farm that it’s only on new versions of the stick.

To the person with the Swiss Samsung smart TV, you can actually change the region by accessing a secret menu - just google region change with your model number and you'll find instructions on how to access the menu!
