All orders over the £15 limit get charged for 20% VAT and a handling fee when you order from Amazon.ca, the couriers they use are very keen on getting their £12 handling fee.

Got mine ordered was not gonna triple dip but at this price great stuff thanks

How long ago was that?
Anything you have to pay VAT on now you have to pay a handling charge. It kicks in if they have to bill you for anything.

Product Description
Batman Begins:
Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.

The Dark Knight:
The follow-up to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves effective, but soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker, who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces Batman closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante. Heath Ledger stars as archvillain The Joker, and Aaron Eckhart plays Dent. Maggie Gyllenhaal joins the cast as Rachel Dawes. Returning from Batman Begins are Gary Oldman as Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.

The Dark Knight Rises:
It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

They may do that by mistake, if price has been labelled incorrectly on package but you should be able to claim it back. The HMRC only collects import tax on items of £15 or more excluding delivery (based on current exchange rates listed on their site).

So if it was £14.90 + £4 delivery, there would be no charge. If it's £15.10 then they would work out the VAT based on that plus delivery cost, and RM or whoever would slap a "handling fee" on top.

EDIT: However there is a small chance that when it arrives in February, the exchange rate for that month fluctuates and it ends up just above the £15 mark.

I would hazard that you'll have to pay import charges on this as it's above the £17ish threshold for import tax-free shopping, which would potentially bring it up to close to the Amazon UK price. Metal cases fend off more dust & radiation from the sun when sitting on ones shelves, hence the reason people pay top dollar for movies, even if those movies are widely known as being bad.

Mascherano

is there a reason why?

There are many reasons why, mainly just that they are intended as a collectable format. They're made in limited edition, some only in the low thousands of maybe 1,000-10,000 copies. Some have additional material like photo cards, or additional footage of the movie. The most sought after is a sealed copy of John Rambo, which can change hands for up to £1,000 (there were only 1,000 copies made and not sold online). If you're looking for a hobby of collecting, then this is as cool as it gets. The value of the SB opened out of its seal wrapping does drop, so decide why you have bought each item, to watch it...or to watch it gain in value. There are also Metal Packs and Tin Box, do not confuse those titles with a Steelbook. Steelbook is a branded form of packaging, different and mostly more sought after than those other similar styles of metal packaging.
