I guess it depends on the user. I have less local storage now than ever before. My phone, Surface, and desktop all have 128GB of storage. All three have loads of space left because pretty much everything is stored in the cloud.

I’ve got a few Surface Pros - love the devices. Gven how quickly and easily such a tiny hard drive can be gobbled up, and how cheap SSDs are this year, I find it criminal manufacturers still offer this small amount. Absolute min in my opinion should be 256GB at the same price. I know you can add an Micro SD card but throughputs are nowhere near. The norm 5 years ago for capacity for 500GB (spinners obviously) and I often feel like we’ve gone backwards as not everyone likes to store there stuff in cloud storage as an alternative. I guess with more recently you can get 1TB Surface Pros which is much better.

Will JL price match?! :D

I've got the original Surface Pro with a USA keyboard. Never been a big deal for me. I could have blank keys and type just fine. Still, not sure it's worth it at this price. Why is that a problem?

I sound like a broken record...128GB SSD in 2018...

One of the worst phones I've seen in the last few years. Lenovo doing their best to destroy Motorola. This will surely be the nail in the coffin for Lenovos Motorola venture and they'll stick to not going further than the E and G line. Literally makes no sense having a 5G mod when there's no 5G available and a Snapdragon 636? Really?? I'd like to say game over but it's Lenovo. Expect the popularity of the G series to keep them going.

Hmm the Moto X Play was around £220 to £260 at launch and I assume this is going for the same market, ie above Moto G and below Moto Z. I feel this is a bit overpriced but maybe I'm wrong, or a cheapskate :D

I think it’s just that it’s not a lot of spec for quite a lot of money really - SD636 (even though it’s not a bad SoC) but it is mid-range and it’s nearly £400. Moto Mods are cool but also a gimmick and it’s just another cost to tack on. As it’s the Play version, people know it’s ‘cut down’ too. I imagine it will appeal to some but, for me anyway, it’s too much money for not enough spec. I’d take the Nokia 7 Plus over this any day - I didn’t vote yet, too busy reading all the comments (embarrassed)

Was thinking about the G6 Plus for £269 :/ :/ :/

Great price for this ;)

When I click the link its just the camera and a check box for 70eur off. Quite keen to get this camera if it's still 480gbp. Have never ordered from non UK amazon. Can you help explain how best to order it so it's 480gbp. Thanks

- 70 euros coupon + 128gb Lexar UHS-II card

Expired? Now showing as 700euros

Just stick it on a belt pouch, it’s quite small so you’d hardly notice it.

I bought this for full price when it came out and it's a fantastic little camera as it's small enough to carry in a jacket pocket all the time, image quality from the 1in sensor is great, it does 1000fps slow motion and the wifi/NFC works really well for transferring to an Android phone. You simply tap the phone against the side of the camera and it automates the transfer of the photos doing everything for you.

FujiFilm X T20 Compact System Camera £478.85 Amazon Germany - Preorder
Found 4th AugFound 4th Aug
Cracking price for this

The Samyang 12mm f2 is wonderful. Very wide and fast. Manual focus but not an issue for a lens of this type and focus peaking is a doddle. Usual price in UK is and £300, but you can find bargains. Got mine from eglobal for £200. 27mm pancake is handy and so small. Either 35mm are great. 18-55mm is very good short zoom. Personally I’d pick the 12mm Samyang, 35mm Fuji and 18-55mm XF. And save for the 56mm lol. I use vintage adapted lens too.

X-T2 on 2 days later and they still have it at the same price and not in stock. I don't have very high hopes for this. I also wonder what effect this has on other sellers. Surely no one who "bought" and is waiting for a discounted price would shop anywhere else in the meantime. Amazon effectively stops others from selling the item even though they may not even sell it themselves during that time if that discounted price never materialises and orders end up cancelled.

Here too

And me. Bah.

I actually think this is a good deal. Is anyone able to point me in the direction of a cheaper one please?

Ladies hot = this exact item is cheaper than you can currently get elsewhere. Cold = you can get this exact item cheaper elsewhere. Cold does not equal “you can get something that looks a bit like this but isn’t this cheaper”.

Bought mine for a fiver works locally via wifi not remotely so doesnt need a server and seems to do everything the Phillips can and mine is 5 metres! 50 Sovvs for an led strip and small wireless controller circuit roflmao some people are Brand monkeys!

Cheaper alternatives are useless If they do not play well 100% with your existing devices. Even the ones that are discoverable by the hue app, are not compatible with many features within the hue ecosystem and therefore about as much use as a chocolate fireguard to me. Youre talking about backend servers - you realise hue needs these also to route out of home control to your hue hub? You realise Phillips do put r&d into these devices? You can research into the way that colour termperature of LED lights is tracked in a bi-axis curve instead of a flat line, and the challenges that brings. There’s also testing with all the various accessories and infrastructure they’ve release or about to release on a constantly changing roadmap with new products coming out all the time. These are fairly niche products that don’t just create themselves, cost money to design test and build.

It may not be cheaper somewhere else, but their are cheaper alternatives. The design and technology involved in building an Echo Dot (one of your examples), along with the software and back end servers running it, and continous updates is a lot different to a simple LED lightstrip. I can appreciate the RND that goes in to a more technical product, or a product that needs further development or management throughout its lifespan. However some products markup prices are not justifiable and do not offer a good deal for the consumer, customers who accept this are part of the problem when it comes to inflated prices on products. We all have our opinions, mine is a load of rubbish according to you, but to me and others, despite this being a lower price than normal, it is not a good deal.

Oh, you mean application/game loading that isn't bound by the SSD at this point in time? Disk bound applications will greatly benefit from NVMe.

well you dont have to take my word for it. you can google application/game/OS loading benchmark and the general census

I most definitely disagree with everything you've stated.

NVME performance is almost unnoticeable for most user. unless you move large file around constantly like a video editor. for everyone else. NVME is not worth spending at all

Important this is using SATA bus, so you'd really want to use this in a laptop and not in a desktop. Desktops generally support the much faster NVMe host controller which interfaces directly with PCIe. The speeds of this M.2 are no faster than a normal 2.5" SATA.

1) Prime customers of amazon uk were able to avail it right? Any extra cost involved? [Ans: No] Assuming you meant HD screen variant.. the LCD on this handset has garnered high praise. The colours are accurate and bright. One can opt for a slightly punchier hue as well from settings, which ll boost the colours slightly more.

Can’t say I miss it. It has a very good LCD, goes bright, great colours and contrast is superb. Definitely not far off an AMOLED, which I’m not a fan of anyway for various reasons including ridiculously expensive repairs if damaged and colour shift over time.

No worries Gaukiro. I hope you finally get it and don't have too much longer to wait.
