Not the prettiest, perhaps, but extremely well reviewed, very solid, and a good price at the moment:

Check the website - never use it, personally: battery destroyer, meaning an expensive replacement.

I’ve wondered about that. I normally charge things overnight, so wouldn’t I be better off with a slow charge? It should be an option.

It's the norm, rather than an option. Fast Charge is the option - and this doesn't have it. Most people don't need it either, and it's a battery fryer.

Fast charge really isn't as bad as you make out, but I have to admit, I'm not impatient and rarely bother with fast charging at all. Slow and steady wins the race.

This is true. Its just utilises the chemistry of li-ion that allows the ~20% to ~80% capacity of a battery to be charged faster than the first/last 20%. What's far worse for a li-ion is fully charge/fully discharge it as that tends to damage the cathodes/anodes of the battery. Really wish there was an option on phones to only charge to say 95% like an electric car. I'd get through the day easily and the battery would then last a lot longer.

I think Sony did this first and you can limit the max charge in their software (previously anyway). I'd sacrifice a bit of short-term battery life for longer-term battery health and it's often why I unplug my phone around 70-80% charge anyway.

On Android you can get an app that runs on rooted devices that can do this but I had limited success - I had been trying this on a Nexus 7 tablet that is the control hub for my office's AC, it has to stay constantly plugged in with the screen on lowest and I wanted to limit the charge to 40%, even more so as the battery has swollen now and I am waiting for the replacement.

Real shame that despite all the advancements in phones, the only real solution we have to battery woes is shoving larger batteries in the device and faster charging to combat the sheer capacity!
I have an app that beeps when phone drops to 50% and 80% when charging. This is the optimum levels for both. At 50% I pop it on wireless charger not fast charge at 80 alarm sounds and off it comes.
Arrived today. And it’s a much better looking little unit than the pictures on Amazon suggest.

Small, neat, good looking, nice matt finish, and a really nice solid feel to it. Will please the wife enormously because it should enable something of a tidy up.

What's the name of that App you're referring too, please?. :-)

I use Accu Battery which seems alright. The problem is I have a Pixel 2 and charging to 80% means I get half a day out of my phone if I'm lucky.
Thanks OP, ordered!

Wireless charging is not good for batteries they get quite hot while charging wirelessly. If you are trying to be kind to the battery just use a slower charger, a 1amp max charger will more than double the charging time but will be better on the battery.

My wireless charger is an old 1A so it's fine. Phone doesn't get hot.
