Not recommended for enclosed fixtures - just to be clear this means that if my light fitting has 3 opaque glass style tubes that fit over the bulb, this would be unsuitable?
Similar to this
I'd imagine it's fine as long as they fit.
LED G9 bulbs are typically larger than the halogen equivalents.
This style by AmazonBasics slightly girthier and longer.
I have purchased other LED G9 bulbs in the past and they do not fit this ceiling lighting:

Ah I see now. Thanks for the clarification
The warm colour of these LED bulbs are exactly the same as the halogen bulbs they are replacing.
The middle bulb in these pics is an AmazonBasic LED bulb, the 5 around them are the 40W halogen bulbs that were bundled with the lighting. I am surprised that the LED bulb looks brighter than the halogen bulbs even though they are rated at a equivalence of 28W.

Do these last? G9 leds in general

Seems there is very little room for heat dissipation

I cannot comment on these ones from experience but it is reassuring that you are covered by Amazon customer service for these bulbs.
also like many led bulbs the light only comes out of the top so the whole effect of the light fitting is ruined.
Phillips hue and similar in a ceiling light with glass shades looks stupid beyond belief and only gives a white spot on the ceiling leaving the room dark.
Any recommendations of G9 LED bulbs which are very close to the length of the halogen ones? Thanks.
