I think the Lidl ones when available are far better value at £4.99 for 8, when stored they hold 80% of there charge even after 1 year and can be recharged 1000 times, I have tested the Lidl ones against Duracell rated at 2500mah and there was no difference. I use mine for my Xbox controllers and various RC cars.

I found this YT video recently about Eneloop and Ikea Ladda batteries.

Maybe useful to anyone that's passing Ikea.

I've heard that too (about these being Eneloop), nobody really seems to know for sure. They're discussed here candlepowerforums.com/vb/…A-s

Also:
"Remember, the Hi-Cap FDK/Eneloops don't have the same SOC retention after X, Y or Z years, that the Standard FDK/Eneloops have. That extra capacity seems to come at a price and that price is in capacity, total cycles and I.R. (internal resistance) buildup over time.
I and others here have said that Hi-Caps do have their place in one's quiver, but there are definitely trade offs, so choose accordingly."

Been thinking of getting some rechargeables for Xbox one controllers, would these be ok? Any recommendations for a charger to go with?

Maybe but last time I checked they was £13.99

That was recently

It's a shame that they don't sell the Eneloop tropical anymore, it made changing batteries fun:

I have just brought these for my Xbox controller, no idea how good these are but I was fed up of waiting for the Xbox play kit to go down in price ( 3rd party battery pack have been awful for me) charged them up on my nitecore d4 charger not sure if it is over power to charge these but will tell me over time. Apparently you are suppose to use these a few time to circle though the battery before these actually work at there best . I got the 4 pack just to check these out so hopefully they are good

£8.33 with Amazon Student and Subscribe & Save, lovely.

Do you need to type a code in at checkout?
I have student membership but when I click on promo link it won't open.
Stupid android phone!!

Is this the best price it's been? What about deals on charger?

When did you see those? I’ve never seen the coloured ones, only the silver, green, and black version. They were also only in packs of 4 for £3.99?

Didn't work for me, is that not just for first time S&S users?

Yes, you're right...it is

Will these keep the Mrs rabbit running?, Wouldn't want to disappoint ;).

I have these. They are top quality batteries that are Eneloop Pro level performance. They do hit 2500mah and they are hefty. They are made in the same Japanese factory from what I have read. There are some Chinese made ones too that aren't quite as good but the standards have been rising.

I also have the Tronics shown above, and they outperform them as well and are better after a year.

They do give up charging cycles for capacity just like the Eneloop Pros that quote 500 cycles, but unless you are charging these every day they will last for years and years. 500 cycles is a lot.

As for the question are they good in Xbox controllers then they are superb in anything high drain, I use them in my controllers and they last a long time.

Not had much luck with these. The capacity just keep dropping after each charge. Anyone else? Charging with Liitokala 500.

Only been charged about 5 times so far...

It’s weird how people get really nerdily into rechargeable batteries, remember my dad doing it when I was a kid and recently found myself reading up on reviews so nipped it in the bud

Really struggled with those when I bought them a few years ago. Most barely charged after a few uses. Not had the same problems with any other rechargeables. Think I read somewhere afterwards that they are a bit hit and miss between the various Lidlreleases.

I've been using one of these for a few years:

batterylogic.co.uk/bl700/

Much better than my previous bog standard charger as this one shows charged capacity etc. Can also sometimes revive seemingly dead batteries.

amazon also have good deal onn 8 recyko aa /aaa

I've got one of those as well, has served me well. Only issue is that sometimes a battery is so dead it doesn't even register on it (usually the more rubbish batteries) so I need to use a dumb charger for just about 10-30 seconds first.

I have had that happen intermittently with several brands.

I've used these for my xbox one controller for over a year now, and just use the Amazon basics charger too. They work absolutely fine - last a decent number of hours and swap them out. No problems at all - I'd thoroughly recommend.

The 4 packs are £2.99, the colorful ones I have shown are for the festive Christmas period, they are usually available about 2 weeks before Christmas, hoping they will have them again this year but not advertised so far.

People keep spreading the same rumour that these are eneloops in disguise, if they were that good a quality they would not be getting sold as Amazon basics, Im not saying there is anything wrong with how these batteries perform but if they were exactly the same as eneloops I'm sure Amazon would come up with something better than basics.
