Excellent tile-placement board game. Has won loads of awards and has been going for many years, it has around 10 large expansions, loads of mini-expansions and multiple spin-offs.

NOTE: Before anyone complains about it being the German version, Carcassonne is language independent, meaning only the rules have any words on them. You can get the rules online in various places. Buying the German version means you save loads over the English version, and with the current savings, you save even more.

English Rules for this box set:

The sixth edition of the Carcassonne Big Box is the first big box in the new 2015 art stye, uand contains:

- Carcassonne base game £25-£30 on its own
- Inns and Cathedrals £15-£20 on its own
- Traders and Builders £15-£20 on its own
- The River(now included with the base game)
- The Abbot (now included with the base game)

Plus six mini-expansions that have not yet been released in the new art style:

- The Flying Machines
- The Messengers
- The Ferries
- The Gold Mines
- Mage and Witch
- The Robbers (which collectively include the tiles for the Corn Circles II mini-expansion).

Great value for money set, and a cracking start to your collection.

I already have all the other sets, yet still bought this for the mini sets that are not released yet

It says free delivery when I log out, but I am on prime so if anyone can tell me the non-prime delivery price I will add it to the listing.

EDIT: I also recommend the Princess & Dragon expansion if you would like to add a little 'Take that' element to the game.

EDIT2: Back at £36.67 again, grab it while stocks last!

EDIT3: OK, back up to £41, marked as expired.

This is such a well thought out and enjoyable strategy game. Fun for all the family! Some serious amount of hours enjoyment here for years and years to come. Currently just waiting for my two boys to get old enough to play it so we can play it more often!

The annotated rules are great, but are for the old version, while you could use them, don't have the rules for the newer stuff and the minor rule changes/updates. There isn't a complete carc 2.0 annotated rules set yet

Those are the new Big Box set rules. Worth having both!

Love this game!
Wow! Great price for an excellent game. We can't get enough of this in our house. The 4 yo is now fully trained up too! It's an great family game, as well as excellent gateway board game. We have enjoyed playing it with everyone from seasoned gamers and newcomers alike, all ages! Carcassonne is what started my foray into this great hobby.
Fantastic deal, but I think I'll just stick with the base game (and the Star Wars variant I have). Hard to resist buying this though!
South Seas is the preferred Carcassonne variant for us; no score track, and visually much more appealing.

Wow really? I've got a nearly 6 year old who is very bright but I think even he would struggle a little, but after reading your post maybe I'll give him a go on it, would love to be able to crack this game open more often!

It has a beginner mode where you don't include farmers. It makes the game easier to get in to. The good thing about board games is you can make the rules as simple as you like, you could take out any modules that are a little difficult, make the points system easier (1 point for 1 tile on everything). You can also get a kids version of Carc.

No worries, then all you do is add modules/rules back as they become more comfortable with the basic rules.
Showing as £41.99 or am I missing a code?
Price has increased?

Definitely do! It took him a good few tries and he does need the occasional guidance, but he more than holds his own. It's fantastic to be able to play this instead of Cluedo Junior again

We did it and it was great! Thanks so much as I wouldn't even have thought of introducing it to him but he totally got the simplified version and with a little help from me he wiped the floor with me!
