Although paying £225 for a 18-month(!) old 8-inch tablet might sound crazy(?), this one is still one of the best Android tablets available. And the fact that it is the LTE model, it is the icing on the cake. I would like to remind fellow readers that the package includes a European charger, so you will need either an adapter or use one of your existing UK chargers.

Oh, and shopping from a non-UK Amazon site is simple. You log in with your existing username and password, no need to create a new profile. As always, Chrome browser is recommended, as it automatically translates the page. At the last page, Amazon will ask you to either: 1. pay a GBP amount (by using Amazon's exchange rate) or pay the EUR amount ( and the conversion will be done by your bank).

As for the tablet's capabilities, I will put a couple of reviews on one of the first posts, and a couple of images. But in a few words: waterproof, front-facing stereo speakers, thin & light, fast, premium quality, Hi-Res audio with Sony headphones, FM Radio, micro-SD up to 128GB, 3GB RAM, 801 Qualcomm with stellar performance, this week received the Marshmallow update software . If you are looking for a tablet of this size & budget, you should also look at Samsung's S2, Huawei's MediaPad M2 , and one of Apple's mini tablets.

Z3 Tablet Compact getting Marshmallow
I have this tablet, and agree that its one of the best around. It's holding it's price well, and works like a dream. Very underrated in my opinion.

Oh, and Marshmallow is already available for it.
Where this has calling abilities, anyone know if networks allow phone sims to be used in it (thinking Three mainly, as with GiffGaff the question is probably mute now on all but the 'always on (but pathetic after 6GB) data' tariff). I suppose it could be important on a number of networks (e.g. TPO, BT, Life, ID, etc. where they do not allow tethering).

Don't see why you wouldn't be allowed to use a phone sim. Works the same way

Three still block their SIM cards from use in tablets unfortunately. Despite the Sony Tablet being able to make calls and send texts, Three will block the SIM unless its a data SIM card beign used. I know this from personaly experience sadly.

Thanks - I think GiffGaff used the ability to make a GSM call as the test, but hardly surprised that 3 are not so sensible. I can't believe that 3 now block data sims being used in a phone too!

I'll have to stick to my Z Ultra (which 3 do class as a phone).
this post needs some more love. it's held its price well annoyingly but still the best tablet out there. I've smashed the screen on mine, totally my fault and surprised it still works fine. want to get a new tablet but nothing else beats this. tab s2 is OK but not as good. the tab s is considered better than the tab s2 strangely
