so other than it being a low power its not really designed for a caravan …so other than it being a low power its not really designed for a caravan is it...

It depends on your electric hook up a lot of UK sites have 16 amp hook up, which gives you about 3.6 KW to use, where as a lot of sites abroad only have 10 amp hook up, which only gives you a 2.3 KW to use, a normal kettle uses about 2.2 KW so if you use it with something else say your heating then it probably would trip out your supply.

Well it doesn't look like a caravan so it must be called a caravan kettle because it's designed for a caravan, can't see why you'd say it isn't or am I missing something about caravan kettle design? I don't know I'm no expert

in what way is it designed *specifically* for a caravan?

it's low power, sure, but that's not *specifically* designed for a caravan which normally has a 12V on board supply if not connected to the mains...
Y'all are missing the point; if cooking in a caravan with a standard 13Amp(3120watts) electric hookup, you will be using maybe a microwave, an electric hob, etc. So switching on a uk standard 10 amp or 13 amp kettle drawing 2400watts or 3000watts requires you to switch off everything else in the 'van. If the kettle draws 1000watts you could probably leave the other stuff on without tripping the circuit breaker.
i use an 800watt kettle at my brick-built home, takes bleeding ages to boil, but i have solar cells on my roof. If the kettle draws little current, it'll boil for free even on a cloudy day. If it needed 3000watts, i'd have to pay for it to boil by importing energy. I'd rather plan my cup of tea and wait for it!
p.s. very few people caravan without a mains hookup these days because of the need to charge mobile phones. But those who do use calor gas to boil their kettles! Never 12volts, which works fine for lighting............

Low power also means that it is a touch slow, but also quiet. This could maintain domestic harmony if one person gets up earlier than the other and wants a cuppa. I got one last year and speak from experience.
