Had loads of these in my local Aldi - They are only small and more suited to a single person , say to do fish and chips or could do enough chips for 2.

Just a heads up on the 3 Years Guarantee/Warranty - not worth the paper it's written on - Aldi immediately refer you to Ambiano whose first course of action is to try everything they can to get out of it, then eventually ignore you.
So, a year or so done the line if it goes belly up - just chuck it as they will not honour the guarantee.

Checked with the manual for my Ambiano fryer and the service number that I called seems to be Medion, which I discover isn’t Aldi but Lenovo…

It has arrived! Was nicely packaged, and came with all the 3 year warranty info.

Took it into the office and set it up, but didn't bring any food to test today. It is as functional as any normal air fryer with food presets, and reached up to 200 degrees. his is what it looks like:

47233145-4XQw8.jpgHere it is next to my phone and electric lunch box

47233145-YeAmM.jpgTouch display dial is really responsive and easy to use. This is what it looks like in operation. Above the temperature, there is a little blue spiny thing that animates to show the fan is spinning. In the middle of that, a red LED switches on to show when it is heating up, and switches off when the temp is reached (not seen in this pic).

47233145-dRs5G.jpgA good sized tray that could make a large portion of food for 1, or 2 smaller sizes (snacks) in my opinion. The tray on the bottom lifts out and can be cleaned separately. The material in the tray appears to be hydrophobic, as the water was beading up when I cleaned it.

    47233145-sx4qQ.jpgView from my desk lol

Excited to get started with this soon. Maybe I'll have 'office cooked' nugs and chips for lunch next week. (edited)

I thought it would just be a case of showing receipt and returning item, but was surprised to be asked for a photograph of it when it was working - I mean, who does that? I just got the strong impression they just weren't up for honouring the warranty. We're looking for a new one now as it's a handy thing for quick snacks. Not sure what to get, but won't be an Ambiano that's for sure. Had a Tower and a James halogen in the past (both better than the Ambiano imho), but kids took them off to uni. Would like to know which gets the best reviews, but the Which Magazine doesn't seem to give much comparison on them at all, and I really don't trust a lot of the reviews on the net. Any recommendations?

My Tower multi cooker has been good until it went pop but reviews on it are not good. If and when this new one goes pop I will go back to a Halogen with a hinged lid. Miss my old one as it would cook a whole chicken just perfect. They got a Andrew James with a spare bulb on Amazon for £80.00, that will be my next one.

If this is designed anything like the Ambiano milk frother........it's probably quicker to just throw your food on the kitchen worktop, cry, then order a takeaway. (edited)

Is there any particular reason why you would require such an image? Are you unfamiliar with the unit I'm referring to? It's an Ambiano Halogen Air Fryer. It's depicted in the attached photograph.Their reply: The reason why we ask for an image is so that we don’t have to inconvenience yourself in asking for the product to be returned and to ensure the product is set up as to the instruction manual. Please note the image you have provided (we are presuming is from a website) shows that the item has been set up incorrect as we mention numerous times in the manual that the extension ring is not to be put around the bowl when in use. Incorrect set up is not covered under the terms of the warranty. They continued in this vein of finding reasons to avoid replacing or refunding. It was quite obvious to me that they had absolutely no intention of honouring the warranty. Nice that things worked out for you, no idea why they would think the first thing people do when they buy an air fryer is take a photograph of it when they use it, but heyho.[Image]

My Tower multi cooker went pop about 4 weeks ago. They wanted a picture of it in my kitchen and an explanation of how I had looked after it. Details of the original receipt. Emails back and forth. Then I had to cut the plug lead 1cm close to the unit and send another picture confirming this. I was then sent a new one. It was about 18 months into a 3 year warranty. Strange but true.

I'm thinking this might be better for 1 person ?
Also would a smaller one use less energy ?

Does that make sense ? Any other opinions / buying advice ?

Saving kWh is my main driver for considering one of these, I used to have a halogen cooker that broke a few yes back.

I had the complete opposite experience with them when my last air fryer broke. The UK based company that provides their support answered the phone within 2 ringsand provided me with a shipping label to return the air fryer and within 10 days or so, I had recieved a cheque to cover the full cost of the air fryer. I couldn’t fault the experience at all!

My experience was very different. I hadlost the tiny silicone rubber bung that stops my airfryer basket rubbing on the outer drawer. It also seals that outer pan.
Anyway, a drawing pin sized high temperature plug.
I phoned the customer service number in the manual and tried to buy one. They wouldn’t let me, instead insisting on sending me a whole pan (with bung) as the bung wasn’t listed individually- and, the point of the story, they refused payment and sent it (free) as a warranty claim.

I have no doubts whatsoever about the value of Aldi’s warranty.

Yes it is the IDEAL capacity for a small household.

Even though it has no basket in the drawer, there are buyers looking for this size of airfryer, as Aldi’s marketing department know very well.
