I wonder why the 3000+ costs more than the 3500+:?

Retail box version as opposed to oem:)

Great prices for those wishing to upgrade on the cheap.

Just to follow on from Muckypup, this is what retail vs oem nets you...

Along with a shiny black box and mediocre heatisnk on the retail side.

Out of Stock :-(

Whats the difference with oem?

IMO warranty for one year is enough, in a years time Computer Technology will be even better as such and going throug ha warranty process for about 30 quid is not worth the time lol, CPU's are proboably the least breakable items in a computer rig (IF INSTALLED PROPERLY) and if you all want to know i went for the 3500+

OEM Original Equipment manufacture, basically means u just recieve the CPU and thats it , bare basics only, so ull need a heatsink (if you havent already got one) and thats it really, saves a bit than going for retail, and receving a crap heatsink for ur money and a nice colourful box.... its 27 quid guys... not that much really for a great chip

AFAIK you also get a CPU fan in the retail boxes whereas the OEMs are the chip only. Good buy if you want to build a cheap PC

I paid £150 for the 4000+ around 5 months ago

Its a great processor though.

Can I use my 3200+ heatsink?

yes mate, it doesnt matter what processor but what SOCKET it is that processor is 939 so will work perfect.

Why has this been put to expired? Its only the 3500 thats sold out...

Because the "Go to deal" but links straight to the 3500 product page. If instead it pointed to this...

overclockers.co.uk/pro…263

...which shows the entire range of Socket 939 CPUs (and change the thread title of course) then the majority of people that breeze in won't be quite so trigger happy on the Expire button

Read some of OCUKs forum entries, absolutely hilarious, or outrageous depending on your outlook !!

Their after sales service history is not fantastic either, I speak from bitter experience

You could always ask a mod to edit the link to the list, and to unmark it as expired
