ebuyer.com/UK/…941 ..was a HOT deal last week or week before...worth noting that it is the old version core not the energy saving new version that runs a lot cooler.

..need to add shipping charge.

Not a bad deal... even before the Google discount!

Whats the difference between the two posted?

How do you know the difference, ie:- which is the old & which is the new? Is it the code they have on the box? Ebuyer have 2 4600 processors on sale & the other one is £80.38 inclusive of vat & that is the one that has been getting the reviews on site. Forgive me for not be a techie but does the x2 mean its dual core or is that not the case?

read this post for product numbers that identify the core chip.

It's the 65nm version which means lower power and better over-clocking.
This is worthy of its own post I think.:)

yep its a great price.

and it has the 2x 512kb cache instead of the usual 2x 256kb cache the low power ones have.

i have a good computer but at that price might be worth building a mega center pc

Its still a good price even without the google discount

polly they have 25,000 items we just cant browse them all.

Are there any problems moving from a 32 bit processor to a 64 bit?

I'm thinking of using this to replace an Athlon 3000. What would be the cheapest motherboard to go with this as well? Preferably supporting AGP and DDR memory.
