doesn't look like it comes with a optical drive.

Free delivery for AV forum members etc...

Seems like a perfect deal to me, need a replacement for my Mum's PC and the 22" monitor is a clincher at this price... adding on a DVD Drive is only a few quid anyhow, and with free del. for being AV Forum member it makes up for it

Note this is a collection of parts so you need to built the whole thing yourself (and install an operating system).

Does your mum really need 4Gb of memory and a 1Tb drive?

Maybe, but I'll be building it up for her so no biggie... unless you've found a better deal somewhere? Literally just about to enter card details in!

If a bit of tinkering doesn't scare you then I can't see how this is a bad deal.

Get a licensed windows from an old clapped out PC and Bob's yer proverbial. Or Linux before anyone else says it. Heheh!

do you need to buy anything else which is essential to make this package work?

looks like just a dvd drive and cable (or whatever optical drive you're after) and I think that's it.

Not sure on the cable front, should come with everything

If you already have a small LCDTV:

Recently built my new system around the Sempron 145 and I can confirm that the "Everyday Performance" is a fair assessment, a real bargain in my opinion. Second core said unlocked but then I had problems loading Linux Mint OS so I returned it to single core (you may have more luck in Windows). Bargain price so able to pair it with a decent Motherboard.
