I know this is not a gaming processor or anything like that, but it is a great dual core cpu for just £45 and is especially good if you are on a budget.

Arn't AM3 mobos quite dear though? Could counter-balance the cheap cpu due to the cost of a dearer mobo.

There are lots of cheap AM3 motherboards. And AM3 processors like these also work with AM2+ motherboards, which are even cheaper.

No not at all. Or in fact an AM2+ board if your upgrading and want to keep your DDR2.

Was confused on this thing
So I only have to use AM3+ board if I want DDR3 RAM but otherwise AM2+ is fine for use with and AM3+ CPU as AMD memory controllers are on the CPU and not the mobo unlike Intel aren't they? Hmm, seems good enough then
